I had the pleasure to be seen by Dr. Saenger MD two weeks after PeaceHealth RiverBend opened. I had been fainting for several weeks, it was discovered that my heart had been stopping. Dr Saenger put in a pace maker. I have been healthy since. This is late in coming. Thank you so much! You are a wonderful doctor, I sincerely appreciate you. I wouldn’t have lived to be 76 without you...😷🤗

I write this review 1 1/2 years after initially seeing Dr. Saenger. I was referred to him after having an echo cardiogram. I had this test because I had had increasingly worsening shortness of breath for about 8 years. Dr. Saenger told me that my echo was normal (which I found out later was incorrect.) He scheduled me for an angiogram to rule out other causes for my shortness of breath. After the procedure he assured me that my cardiac status was fine...no coronary arterial blockage, no pulmonary hypertension. He told me to seek advice from other disciplines, such as pulmonology, to find the source of my issue. So, after spending thousands of dollars and many appointments with other specialists, my new PCP, a new nurse practitioner, sent me for a stress echo. The test showed hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM), and a referral to OHSU in Portland, was made. I am fully recovered now from my open heart surgery. The genetic heart condition I have causes a thickening of the heart muscle, which was reduced with this surgery. So, Dr. Saenger, I hope you see this, and think twice about blowing off another patient. Dr. Saenger might be good at finding CAD blockage and correcting it, but he may not be so good at diagnosing something a little more unusual. As was the case with me.

I was seen in urgent care for irregular heartbeat, referred to ER and after tests the ER doctor told me he was referring me to the cardiology department for immedite access. I had seen Dr Saenger and others in his office for previous heart conditions. Dr Trojan was instrumental in my recovery from CHF. Dr Saenger apparently didn't see the need for for immediate access (w/in 48 hours) this time. I was in ER on 6/15, the office called today 6/17 and I was offered an appointment on 7/28. Not exactly immediate access. Perhaps it was miscommunication in the office but that is still critical when someone is referred for immediate access. Over a month is a far, far cry from immediate access. Good thing we have a top notch ER department should I need it for my heart. My GP referred me to OHSU in Beaverton and they can see me before the end of this month.

I felt he was very professional, listened to my concerns and explained everything clearly. I would highly recommend him.

He is wonderful. Very efficient but most importantly keeps up to date. I trust him.

I was referred to Dr. Saenger for my shortness of breath problems. In Oct. 2018 he did my right and left sided heart cath, which revealed no problems. Instead of digging further to try and figure out what was causing my symptoms, he washed his hands of me. He basically told me that my issues were not cardiac in nature, and that I should lose 30 pounds and seek further testing with another dicipline. So, 8 months later, thousands of extra dollars spent on pulmonologist, sleep medicine, and additional unnecessary labs, I have been diagnosed with left ventricular outflow tract obstruction....yeah, cardiac. So, would not recommend Dr. Sanger.

I believe that first great impression of the doctor must be proved with the years that follow, and this is about Dr. Saenger. How many times I visited him he was so patient, kind, attentive and helpful. I want to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Saenger for his high professional knowledge, and excellent medical care.

Rude, Pompous, Arrogant. That is how I would describe this doctor. An all out attack on my husband and I because our desire was to look at more alternative and natural meds, since the prescribed meds made my husband so sick(deathly ill). This man essentially insulted us, bragged on and on about his credentials and how little we "uneducated (non medical degree holding folks)" know. He belittled us, attacked our faith and beliefs, and was as condescending as anything.

Met with Dr. Saenger for the first time yesterday. Frankly, I was impressed. He seems to be most knowledgeable and made sure I was listening to him. He was efficient,and when I left, I felt as though I had been treated extremely well.

Poor follow-up on post procedure complications created signiicant family distress. Thankfully, another physician arrived in time to assess and admit our loved one for three days of airway management. To his credit, Dr. Saenger eventually returned my call inquiring about what happened. I wonder how much facility protocols contributed to our loved one's difficulties versus Dr. Saenger' care. Unable to get response from Risk Management due to lack of staff clinical understanding. Cannot recommend.
