List of Occupational Orthopedics's Reviews
Stay away from Occupational orthopedics, not good
I want to send a huge thank you to Dr. Shenk and Tammy for fixing my shoulder! I appreciate everything they have done for me. They are so professional and knowledgeable. It was a long road but they never gave up on me because of them I am healed. Thank you again and I highly recommend them!
It's not an easy review to write but the consistent poor communication is ridiculous! My doctors nurse, Tammy is amazing but communication has been a major issue from the beginning. Today I found out from my physical therapist that my bone is not forming a union and my therapy has been cancelled for the next 5 months. This is information I'd like to get from my doctor. So, if you like communication and not chasing down your doctor for information this is not the place for you.
Liked them so much I came back 5 years later! As an RN I am very picky about who cares for me and how they treat my injury. This is an amazing place and people. Highly recommended by a nurse!
Love the doctor and nurse, their scheduling/receptionist eh.. having massive trouble getting back in to get treatment. Otherwise would be higher stars. My pain keeps getting worse.
Doctor John Di Paola is an amazing surgeon he take care of my shoulder very well and I went from having no use and 4 tears in it to having 97% of it back and very little pain and even that rarely
Everyone was nice enough here. Unfortunately just another appointment being seen for not the right reason or solution. Our workers compensation insurance and medical system is very broken with no hope for any repair, to bad so many injured workers go through these problems ... it is really sad.
My experience from the start to the finish (10 mos.) with Dr. John DiPaola was horrific. I'll say this right up front, stay far far away from this man.Truthfully seemed a nice enough man with good bedside manner but he is a devil in disguise. The work he did repairing the labral tear in my left shoulder in 2010 has given me problems for a couple years now. Generally, if the surgeon is good, surgeries like this last 10+ years without any issues but that is the least of the damage he did. I have been going back through some of the reports he filed in my Worker's Comp. file and I was reading where he wrote to the insurance company that I was "contending that I was experiencing thoracic pain" as if I wasn't and spouting other subjective fantasies as fact. He was working behind my back and stripping my right to be healed right below my nose and I trusted him as a professional to help me reach that end. I had sustained a fall from stilts while installing acoustical ceilings for commercial construction company and trying to get my feet under me, slammed into a wall at a pretty good clip jacking up my neck, ripping out my shoulder, damaging my ulnar nerve, twisting my low back, my knee and my ankle. I hurt everywhere but he seemed to be working for the insurance company because he wasn't listening to me explaining to him why was impossible for me to go back to what I was doing anytime in the near future from the combined injury. I KNOW my body and my capabilities. Shortly thereafter, he wrote a letter to my insurance company dismissing all of my issues and signing off a work release saying I was good to go. I immediately got a second opinion from Sports Medicine Clinic, which by the way is an excellent clinic, that confirmed that I was indeed a long ways from being ready to work at anything. That is just one instance of many causing me to write this review almost 8 years after the fact. My retrospective opinion is that he is a hack surgeon, I concur he lobbies for the insurance companies and does not have your best in mind.
I had an injury for over 2 years and Occupational Orthopedics doctors were able to diagnose and treat my injury. I am post surgery 6 months and my injury is 10xs better than it was before I saw these doctors.! I would definitely recommend here especially for worker's compensation injuries.
bad bad bad bad bad can't rate any lower he says he's for the workman's comp person but all he does is go along with the insurance company if he can't make money by doing surgery on you he washes his hands of you and kick you out. he would probably be a good I.M.E. ( not independent medical examiner), (but a insurance medical examiner) doctor for the insurance companies. he throws you under the bus when not even your lawyer can pull you out. do you not trust him with the hair on your head.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
