List of William K Sherwin Phdmd's Reviews
I came to see Dr. Sherwin on the recommendation of two colleagues, who both saw him and felt he was an excellent dermatologist. However, my experience with him was extraordinarily disappointing and I would not recommend him to anyone, particularly anyone who has large numbers of moles. I have seen 5 dermatologists over the past 10 years, bringing my total body photography (print and digital images of all my moles) with me, and most doctors spend a good 20 - 30 minutes looking over each image and checking it against the moles on my body. These days they mostly look at the digital images, enlarging them on a computer screen and comparing them to particular moles. During my appointment with Dr. Sherwin, he spent a maybe 5 minutes looking over my moles (I have hundreds of moles all over my body) and dismissed the use of magnifying lenses or other examination tools. When I asked why he had not competed the moles to the images and used a magnifying glass or the magnifying lenses he was wearing, he stated that his 44 years of experience were better than any of those tools. He was extremely dismissive of my questions and worry, and spent most of our appointment attempting to impress me with stories about his Ph.D. research at Penn in the mid 1970's on cancer and HIV, how his mentor should have won the Nobel prize. This might have been true but I did not see how it applied to my moles or worry that he was not taking my cancer risk seriously and notably, his discussion of HIV was incorrect, I know this because I happen to be a professor who does HIV research. Further, this was my first appointment, yet unlike any other dermatologist I have seen, he did not ask about my use of sunscreen, hats or other lifestyle choices that affect cancer risk, only asking if I was careful about the sun, to which I said yes, and then he cut off my follow up comment with more stories about his research. Overall, I have a lot of anxiety about my cancer risk, because it is high, and nothing was said or done to discuss ways to mitigate it. Overall, I left the appointment feeling rather small, with no sense that I had been properly examined or thought about. I suspect Dr. Sherwin is a good practitioner, has he been in practice for a long time, has an excellent pedigree and I know people who speak well of him. But my experience was almost wholly negative, and I will not be going back. In addition to his dermatological examination I was frustrated that he removed his mask several times while speaking 2 - 3 feet away from me, was not wearing it properly when it was on (not over the nose). I understand that masks can be uncomfortable, but they are an important protection against COVID-19 these days and I was really surprised to see a medical professional who interacts with many people in small rooms each day being so cavalier about my health and potential exposure.
My health insurance provided me with a list of dermatologist that accept my insurance. After doing research on the doctors provided to me I chose Dr. Sherwin because he had several positive reviews so I decided to schedule and appointment and I was not disappointed! The office was clean and everyone was pleasant and treated me like a values patient! Once in the exam room Dr. Sherwin took his time and listened to me and never once did I feel rushed. He also explained my condition (eczema) to me and how he planned on treating it as well home care. I would recommend Dr. Sherwin to anyone who is looking for a top notch dermatologist!
Dr. Sherwin and his staff are top notch! The office was clean and everyone from the young ladies who checked me in to his nursing staff were pleasant and professional! Being a new patient, Dr. Sherwin took his time and listened to my concerns and never once did I feel rushed. He also explained my condition to me as well as treatment. If you are looking for a local dermatologist, Dr. Sherwin is who you should schedule with!
I have been seeing Dr, Lieberman for several years and she has dealt with multiple basal cell carcinomas for me. Her surgical skill is outstanding. I have no scarring. She is not an effusive person, but is concerned and interested. I go to her because of her training and her expertise. I am not looking for a best friend! Sometimes, I have to wait longer than expected, but am never rushed when I do get to see her/
All three in my family have seen these doctors. They are astute and helpful, and I trust them. Neither doctor is effusive, but they listen carefully and answer thoughtfully. The medicine always works. Mole removals are quick and painless. I trust both of them.
I waited well over an hour both times and my appts were really early in the morning and I was the only one in the waiting room. Just when i thought i would finally be seen and shown to a room, I waited another 30 minutes or so. I wouldn't have cared about the wait time if it hadn't been for the VERY COLD bedside manner that I was treated with by Lieberman. I know someone else that does see her and they say she is okay with them but with me it was bad.She walked in with her back turned towards me and did not introduce herself, did not care to look at the products that I brought with me that were given me a painful and embarrassing reaction on my face, did not diagnose me just glanced, wrote a script handed it to me and walked out. It took a total of about 4 minutes and I knew within the 1st minute that I had wasted my time. I was so upset because I just needed someone to let me know everything was going to be okay. My skin was so irritated. I only went back for the follow-up because I was able to see the other Dr. and he was very nice, but I still had to wait.
Only come here if you enjoy waiting indefinitely. My appointment is 10:30am, it is 11:24am now and i am still waiting. Another patient has an appointment with her at 10:45am, i don't think she can see her before 12. Will update my final wait time later. Won't be coming here for sure.Update: Got in eventually around 11:30, saw the doctor, and got out at 11:55. The doctor as well as the staff are all nice and pleasant people, hence the revised three stars. This would be an excellent practice if they hadn't overbooked appointments so much. I would probably still see dr. Lieberman, if i can get the first appointment on the day.
I've been a patient of Dr. Lieberman's for over 10 years and couldn't be happier with her care, from mole removal to eczema and several other issues, all with great results. I've never felt rushed, and find her to be warm and a good listener.
This is a disorganized office where paper intake forms are transcribed longhand into paper records... The nurse made lots of errors in this process which led Dr. Sherwin to refuse to refill a prescription I'd been taking for years. As if I wasn't the only source of information for that chart to begin with... His partner Dr. Lieberman has also made changes to my prescriptions without telling me or offering to discuss. Communication is really a problem for these doctors and their staff are very rigid handling anything that's not completely routine.
Time does fly. Dr. Sherwin is a fine doctor and a master of diagnosis. I've had about a dozen suspicious moles removed by him, all painlessly. Highly recommended.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
