List of Preferred Care At Home Of Pittsburgh's Reviews
My name is Tom Leverette. I have used Doctor Uma Purighalla as my "Family Doctor" for if not, almost 20 years.. I have always kept up on my yearly check ups and other requested testings.. (except my bloodwork which my insurance would not cover at her office. My work hours have made Quest almost impossible to use as there usually closed after my work hours). Recently I was dropped without any given reason's. I came home to a cold impersonal certified letter saying they were dropping me.. no explanation of why.. also stated they would still "treat me for 30 days" to give me time to find another PCP doctor. i had my fiance who also has her as a doctor call to schedule a yearly check up and to schedule some bloodwork so I could be upto date for a new possible PCP (as I drive from 5am till after 4pm most days), and she told me, that she was told by the office that I was "already discharged" as her patient already.. they also said that Uma had tried to call me and had left a message, so since I keep all my messages for a year for legal reasons for my business I went back over the last 3 months.. I found no text or voice messages from Dr. Uma or her office. So I tried to call myself, I was put on hold.. when the girl who answered the phone returned, she "appeared" to have been given instructions directed to "push me off to a main office, an Amy at that office.. no surprise, I never received a returned call.. a 20 year Doctor/Patient relationship seems mean nothing to this Primary Care organization.. or the trust from a relationship of that amount of time. I feel lied too.. and so very betrayed. I'm 59 this year, in the possible 10 years i may have left to my life till I reach 70, I'll never be able build the trust again with another doctor that Dr. Uma and I have built over those years .. we have been together for half of our adult lives. I just dont understand how your Doctor of 20 years can just just kick you aside.. not even bother to come to a phone to tell you why, pawns you off to someone else to deal with you.. that's when you know what you have really ment to that person.. even some number item on an assembly line.. has an inspector that cares enough to stamp there approval on it or not.. I'm apparently worth less this.. She has now shown me "I'm not worth much".. dig a ditch, and kick me in it. I hope who reads this ranks higher then I have.. I'm very very sad, and hurt. I have been business from the time I was a child in both family and for other companies.. I pray to God that I have never, ever made my customers ever feel this way. as a minister in my off time, my prayers are with this office.
Our family used Preferred Care at Home Pittsburgh for both our dad and mom (a few years apart) in supplementing Hospice care. Don and Amy were very responsive, and the people they sent were truly wonderful. Their care givers were kind, compassionate and an incredible help in both circumstances.
We used this company to care for our Mom in order to keep her in her house yet safe. We really had great luck and I don't think any of the staff members would be considered sub par. Even the ones who spent the night during more critical times were exceptional. Amy at times would help out and there was a genuine and actual concern....she gave a damn. Great company to take care of your loved ones
Quick and efficient service. Billing and time keeping accurate. The majority of the in-house care takers were good.
Very nice owners! Very respectful towards care givers
Great company I really enjoy working for Preferred Care ❤
Amy and Don are first rate compassionate caregivers & employers! It's great working with them because they genuinely care about their clientele as well as their staff.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
