List of Uma Purighalla's Reviews
Terrible experience. Arrived a half an hour early to make sure paper work turned in for my husband. My paperwork was faxed in weeks ahead and we waited for a half an hour past my husbands appointment time. No staff informed me the physician running behind. I had to ask and basically told it takes how long it takes until she’s done with the patient before you. Everyone’s time is valuable. This was a new patient appointments for myself and my husband that we’d waited for months to have. I work in healthcare and it’s just disappointing to see the lack of courtesy and customer service provided by what I thought and was told was a decent provider office/PPCP healthcare establishment.
I have been going to Dr. Purighalla for the past several years. I tried my best to look past her rude and disrespectful staff, especially her receptionist. At my last appointment, I shared my concerns about the staff with Dr. Purighalla in private. She raised her voice and embarrassed me, as it is a small office, and everyone can hear everything. I could not continue with my appointment after that and left. Is this how a good doctor behaves with her patients? In addition, a doctor's office is a business and if Dr. Purighalla wishes to put staff's concerns well-above those of her patients, fine with me. Defending employees who threaten your livelihood seems like a mistake to me and I will be taking my business elsewhere. Seems to me others are doing the same, as well.
Carless and neglectful. My mother saw this doctor for many years and is now in stage 4 kidney failure. She had her blood work done as ordered and this doctor did nothing as her kidney function declined, my mother told her she lost 20lbs and had no appetite. She kept filling prescriptions for medications that were killing her kidneys such as Naproxen. Didn't refer her to nephrology. I read lab results and realized something was wrong. This doctor did nothing!
I have had great experiences with Dr. Purighalla. I appreciate her holistic approach that considers diet. Highly recommend!
I see she does have a lot of good reviews. My mom and my brother-in-law like her and think her holistic approach is great. I also like a holistic approach. I also understand I am overweight and weight is something I have always struggled with off and on throughout most of my lift. However, I think she can be unnecessarily rude. I didn't think she listened very well and has poor bedside manner. Tough love is fine but I think there should be a balance between tough love and sensitivity to people's issues. My youngest sister also goes to Dr. Uma and is also somewhat overweight and had a similar experience. Dr. Uma told my sister that she is not trying to live because she has not lost weight. She said she should skip dinner, who knows what she will be like next year, that she must not care about her health. Even if you think a patient doesn't care about their health, I'm sorry I don't think you should say that. Listen we both know we're overweight we both know it's not healthy, but the disrespectful manner in which she talks to me and my sister is discouraging. I may be a younger adult and so is my younger sister, but that does not give her the right to talk to either of us that way. I was surprised by her lack of compassion. I think she's rude, a bully, and narrow minded. I understand a plant based diet is a healthy option but it's not the only nutritional option. I have cancelled appointments because I think she's rude. Overall, not a good fit for me or my sister, at least.
Absolutely the best Dr and experience with a Dr I have ever had. She listens and talks to her patients! You need to be ready to make changes to help yourself as she is not a "write you a prescription" and go on ignoring your role in your health kind of Dr. - Highly recommend!
Love Dr Purighalla! She takes the time to really listen. I also appreciate the holistic approach.
Very bad. I came in as a new patient. I have a lot of health problems and also PTSD. I asked for a prescription for anxiety medication, because I quit using medical marijuana. I was accused of lying, because my explanation "didn't roll of the tongue." Patients deserve the benefit of the doubt. If you can't or won't prescribe something just say so. Don't call the patient a liar. Have a little empathy. Doctors are supposed to be there to help people. I felt horrible because of the way she treated me. She referred me to a psychiatrist who isn't even accepting new patients, and their office is doesn't accept my health insurance anyway. Thanks for nothing. I will just stick with the medical marijuana. I don't need your judgement or accusations.
Dr. Purighalla greatly cares about her people. She takes the time to look at everything. She will fight for you and try her hardest to help you as well.
Dr. Purighalla takes time to learn about your lifestyle choices that might impact your health, not just any primary or immediate complaints. This enables her to take a holistic approach that combines cutting-edge medical science & technology with common-sense advice about diet, exercise & stress mgmt. She's always pleasant to talk with, and I've never had trouble getting an appointment. Highly recommended!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
