A friend of mine referred Dr. Kuriyan to me. I am so glad she did because he made my experience in his office better than I could have ever expected. I was so scared the whole time because I just found out at a routine eye appointment that I have a detached retina. Dr. Kuriyan’s presence made me relaxed and confident that he was going to help me and take care of my eye. He is so kind and gentle. He explained everything that he was doing very clearly so that I understood what was going to happen during my appointment. I will always be grateful for him and the office for all of their help to repair my retina. I also will always refer him and his office to anyone else!

I have type 1 diabetes for over 50 years, as well as the vision complications that sometimes are associated with diabetes. Dr Kuriyan, and his staff, have worked diligently improving not only my sight, but the overall health of my eyes. Dr Kuriyan refuses to accept “good enough” and continues to work extremely hard to improve my sight. If not for Dr Kuriyan and his staff, I’m confident I would have lost sight in my one eye and possibly both. Dr Kuriyan is a true HERO !

Dr. Kuriyan treated me for a serious eye injury. If it wasn’t for him, I would have had surgery while ignoring a problem that needed immediate treatment. Dr. Kuriyan repaired one injury and monitored a second injury. With his knowledge, skill, and patience, I avoided unnecessary surgery and possible damage to my site. Dr. Kuriyan has my deepest gratitude along with Wills Eye Institute.

About a year ago my local optometrist diagnosed my 10 year old son with a detached retina. We ultimately chose to seek care out of our area and traveled to Bethlehem to see Dr. Kuriyan based on reputation/recommendations, and I’m so glad we did. As a mom I was in a state of shock and panic trying to process the events of the past 24 hours. Dr. Kuriyan communicated the condition and treatment plan thoroughly, direct, yet compassionately. Surgery was scheduled the next day, and every appointment thereafter has been the same experience. The nurses and support staff have also been wonderful. A year later my sons vision has surpassed expectations. We are so grateful for Dr. Kuriyan and his talent and will always recommend and follow him.
