List of Craig R Goldberg's Reviews
From my first appointment of being in excruciating pain to waking up from surgery pain free; I could not thank Dr. Goldberg enough! He is extremely thorough, kind and detailed while explaining what was going on….to what he was going to have to do during surgery….to my healing progress at my post-op 6 week visit. THANK YOU!!! Dr. Goldberg.
Dr. Goldberg saved my life, with his assistant Dr. Lovely. If it wasn't for these two doctors and the lord Jesus christ I would not be here. They are the best neurosurgeons. They both were able to remove three colloid cysts from the third ventricle of my brain and my surgery was a successful one with no side effects or long term after effects from the surgery. God really gave these two doctors great ...
Awful doctor.. A downright rude, and uncaring, human being! I went to Dr. Goldberg, after being referred, by St. Peters Hospital E.R., where I had gone to, when my left leg suddenly "went dead", and my back pain shot up to around a 9/10. I have had a history of back / leg pain, and multiple surgeries, but never anything like that. He was rude right from the start of the visit, telling me I should have had a myelogram at St. Peter's E.R., even though I had explained that their machine was not functioning that night. So after the basic nuero reflex tests, I asked him what I should do next, and he just smugly said "well, you should have had a myelogram, like I suggested, so let's do that". Then just patronized me by saying "I wish I could wave a magic wand and fix it", throwing his hands up, and a "sorry" he walked out. His staff was equally as incompetent. I waited two weeks to hear back, and it turns out that they never even sent the referral! Avoid by all means!!
From the first visit to my 6 week post surgery, Dr. Craig was compassionate, respectful, informative and professional.
I visited Dr. Goldberg yesterday because he is in network with my insurance company. I was told that I need neurosurgery by another doctor who unfortunately does not accept my insurance. I can not attest to Dr. Goldberg's surgical skills but I can say that he is a very rude man who has absolutely no people skills. He was simply uncouth and did not listen. He threw a hospital gown at me and said "put this on" and left the room several times during my exam. He told me that he agreed with Dr. X (the first surgeon that I saw) that I badly needed surgery but said that I had many other things wrong also and would not operate. He told me to go back to the first surgeon and walked out of the exam room without telling me what else he felt was wrong with me or even saying goodbye. I was left sitting there confused and upset. Please see a doctor who treats people better.
Shouldn’t even have a license. Was told he was a “expert” in Chiari Malformations however when I told him all of my symptoms he told me that those weren’t Chiari symptoms. Not sure if his textbook is from the 19th century or if he’s just ignorant. The entire time he was in the room he was rushing and trying to get out of there as quick as possible. The second he finished his scripted spiel he got up and started walking towards the door. My frustrated mother tried to ask questions but I kid you not this man just walked away. His staff is amazing and you can tell they are just as fed up with him as the rest of his patients are. His reviews speak for themselves, go to anyone else but Goldberg.
Had his mind made up about me and my reasons for scheduling a second visit to this practice. Really wasn't interested in hearing anything I had to say and made false accusations. Very disheartening to say the least. I was looking for answers that I didn't receive on my initial visit with the PA. This is my first and only bad review of a doctor.
Rude is an understatement. This man is an arrogant, narcissistic, misogynistic person. If 0 stars were an option, I would choose that. I would not let him operate on a stray frog I found outside. Save yourself some time and seek an alternative health care provider. You will not miss out on anything with this condescending, self-righteous “human.”

Awful Doctor. He is the last person that you want to pay. If you have any respect for yourself or a loved one- do not go to Doctor Goldberg. There are much better neurosurgeons in the capital District.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
