Highly recommend for ftm hormonal management. Excellent bedside manner, incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and kind.

I have seen him for well over a decade, recommended as a "doctor's doctor" and have been very pleased. A really nice guy who seems to know his stuff as well, and stays up to date. I've only used him for annual (er, not quite annual, lol) physicals, and the occaisional short-term malady, like bursitis, and he has done a great job, and has great specialist referrals as well.

I 100% agree with the bottom post. My mother was treated the exact same way and in the same condition, so not much to add. If you have an elderly mother or father, he just blows them off and treats them like a child. Almost because of age, it's like he doesn't care anymore knowing they will just die soon. Prescribes pain medication like crazy just to pacify them. Which my mom became addicted to and has since recovered once she realized it and we realized it. DO NOT TAKE AN ELDERLY patients here.

I have been coming to Dr. Anastasi for over thirty years and consider him to be both an extraordinary professional and a deeply caring human being. I have been a patient of Dr. Anastasi's since I was in high school (I'm 42 years old now) and have found him to be patient, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgeable about internal medicine. Dr. Anastasi actually has a reputation for cracking difficult cases and often received referrals from other doctors in Los Angeles who are trying to sort out challenging patient diagnoses. Dr. Anastasi's wait times can be a little long, but it's only because he sees several patients each day and will often leave space in his schedule for people who need to see him with more urgent medical conditions. I'm sorry that Thomas R had a bad experience with Dr. Jim, but having been his patient for as many years as I have, I can tell you with absolute certainty that he is warm, caring, and far more generous with his time than your typical doctor who has his or her hand on the door knob the entire time you are with him or her. He takes time to listen and is quick to suggest a return visit to follow up with any kind of medical condition. I have the highest admiration for Dr. Anastasi and recommend him highly to anyone who needs a good GP. He's outstanding. I take issue with some of the comments made by Thomas R (who calls their 88-year-old mother "lazy"?) and ask that you make up your own mind. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
