Dr Niggemeyer is a very exceptional doctor. He takes time with you, listens and helps. He really cares
Dr niggemyer was my brother joes dr in icu. Became incensed when I asked him about alternative treatments for my dying brother. Upmc has a standard protocol for covid and the Dr's will not deviate from it even unto death and get angry when asked about this. Ecmo is a life support measure that has been shown to be helpful in such circumstances. He actually told me that my brother was six years to old for ecmo. When asked why 50 was t he cut off he became incensed again and told me he didn't know why the cut off is 50. At least be honest with us. It's because ecmo is very expensive and upmc has the cut off for that reason alone.
Dr. Niggemyer was my Mother's Dr. over the last few years. He is not only a great Dr. But he is a good human. He cares about his patients. My mother was admitted to the hospital and found to have a very rare condition which ultimately took her life. Dr Niggemyer was not her admitting Dr. in this case, and was only made aware of her situation at the very end. Despite his lack of involvement in her case, he continued to track her journey and then followed-up to offer his condolences. I wish I still lived in Pittsburgh so I could become a patient. I would trust him with my life.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
