List of Ocli Vision Butler's Reviews
In September 2025, Dr. O’Brien performed cataract surgery on my left eye. The result was a significant refractive miss, leaving me without usable mid-range or near vision despite paying for a premium lens. I now understand, from another surgeon, that my case was complex and that outcomes can vary. What I cannot accept was the response afterward. When I returned distressed — unable to read my phone, struggling with depth perception, even falling — I was given shifting explanations and conflicting narratives. I was ultimately made to feel the outcome was my fault. My concerns were minimized rather than meaningfully addressed. The payment was complete; the accountability was not. I am now under the care of another surgeon while I explore options to correct what was done.
Their billing system is terrible. During my first visit I was informed that my insurance was in network and I had no issues with billing. During my second visit I was told again that my insurance was in network. I paid at the office for my co-pay. 6 months later I get billed for an additional co-pay because they were no longer in my insurance network, even though I was told otherwise previously and they refused to revise the billing. I would recommend staying away from this business.
...so, was a patient there maybe between 15-18 years...typically 2-3 hour wait, but previously thought it was just another of life's annoyance...not so much anymore...went for an appointment today, and I forgot my credit card for the lousy $40 co-pay on my insurance....looked like the sky was falling ! ...they refused to see me ! ....profits before patients, huh ? ...because they refused to bill me (all my other health care providers have no problem) a lousy $40.00, they lost the insurance carrier invoice of almost $1,000...."PROFITS BEFORE PATIENTS" should be their motto, as the Hippocratic Oath obviously isn't applicable any more...
I am finding it impossible to actually get anyone on the phone there. Even when I leave my number to call back on the automated system I receive no calls. I’ve never experienced this at any doctors office before. Frustrating.
My elderly mother had an appt today… it’s very hard for her to walk. We were SEVEN minutes late and they wouldn’t not honor her appt. Very very disappointed in their actions. Last time we had to wait over 2 Hours from start to finish..
I would recommend ocli vision because from the very first time I called for an appointment until my last appointment after cataract surgery, everybody was very kind, knowledgeable. The appointments were on time and I think the surgery department went above and beyond making sure that I felt safe and comfortable. All my questions were answered. I never felt any pain. All I felt was cared for by a knowledgeable staff and surgeon.
My Daughter had been going to Dr. Trachtman since she was 2 (11 years). Since he retired and OCLI vision took over his practice two of her last three appointments were cancelled by the practice the day of her appointment. Both cancelled appointments were scheduled 6 months in advance. This morning, I received a call 60 minutes prior to the appointment start time to inform me "She could still be seen, but it would have to be at their Bethlehem office with another provider." We'll be finding another pediatric ophthalmologist. I'm not sure what's going on but the level of care she used to receive is just not there with this chain practice.
I do not recommend this office or Dr Joshua Paul. I was referred to him and have very sensitive eyes. Because of this I cannot wear contacts and no I have never had an issue with eye doctor unable to do any test they just have to tell me 1st and I get thru it. I got thru 1st test with lady who understood and was able to do eye pressure and drops. I then go in with Dr Joshua Paul. He pulls the equipment over and is talking and an assistant aggressively puts headrest back and is saying put head back, put head back. I said what are you putting in my eyes and she was clearly offended. I said my eyes are sensitive and it's hard to get things in my eyes and I just want to know what you are putting in my eyes. It went downhill from there. Dr Joshua Paul starts exam and he wants to do eye pressure test. He calls someone in and says can someone hold your head.... umm no. He then kept telling me to lean in and I was, he was clearly upset and it was becoming so uncomfortable. He then says, you will need to leave, this is not a good fit. You are very rude. Imagine that an eye doctor unable to understand someone has sensitive eyes and is offended because I am asking what is being put in my eyes. Although my head shakes I've never had a doctor unable to do any test. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. He told me to leave and wouldn't charge me. I called the referring eye doctor and let them know who she is referring patients to. I DO NOT recommend this office or Dr Joshua Paul
Great buy! I can easily cut through several layers of fabric very neatly.
Fyi, I had an appointment today 3/18/2025 Tuesday. I walked into the East Jericho (1700) OCLI office and was met with a receptionist who literally said, “Last name?” I proceeded to tell her and then she said, “you just made it! you have a 15 minute grace period”. Now I know that I walked in only 10 minutes after my appointment time so that would be within the grace period. I then said to the receptionist, “ok that’s fine reschedule me whenever you want”. I’ve never been so rudely received at a dr’s office than I was today. A word of advice to this young receptionist, don’t try and scold someone in front of their young children, it will never end up well. I’m writing this to make sure that I’m not charged a co pay or any other fee associated with this wasted appointment. If I was able to speak to someone today I would but unfortunately I can’t get a hold of anyone live and I’m not about to call that same office I just came from. Very Rude individual at your front desk!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
