Terrible doctor. Arrogant, didn't listen to my problem, showed no concern for pain. Takes months to get an appointment. Doctor will not return patient calls, nurse takes days to return patient calls. Sometimes very long waits in waiting room, one appointment was 1 1/2 hours late with no explanation from front desk and no apology from Dr. Do not see this provider if at all possible.

Dr. Tyson Collazo does not spend time with patients at all. I went to go see him for severe stomach problems, and have been going through it for the last couple of years. I told him that I have tried everything including taking laxatives to ease the pain. He insisted on me taking it and the appointment was over in two minutes. I got a call from his nurse saying that nothing came back abnormal but then received a call from another nurse from his office saying that there was something abnormal. Obviously, I was confused and decided to go have another office visit with him. He barely talked to me and I didn't get a clear answer and he left me in the dark. I went to another GI and I was diagnosed with Celiacs. Dr. Collazo doesn't spend time with you and he is not willing to listen to your concerns. He is rushed and this is not the way doctors are supposed to be. If I can give 0 stars, I would. NOT recommending this doctor at all.

I assume that Dr. Collazo is knowledgeable. He seems a nice person. However, at least in my case, he does not communicate with patient at all. He did not talk more than one sentence at all. The other problem is that interns or other people ask about your conditions which is really not good. The doctor seems that does not want to talk to you or does not have time. This is one of the biggest problems with Stony Brook Hospital. All in all I spent less than 2 minutes with doctor and talked maximum of one sentence.

This was my first time seeing Dr. Collazo. I was called in less than a half hour and once in the exam room the wait for Dr. Collazo was less than ten minutes. The nurse was polite, the exam room was clean and Dr. Collazo was polite, a good listener and a good diagnostician. Subsequent to my appointment when I had a question about the medication I received a return call within an hour.
