Chang Eye Group's Online Review Report Card

I have been using several doctors at the Chang Eye Group. Dr Ngan is my ophthalmologist and is excellent. I highly recommend her. Dr Schraeder is my optometrist who has helped me with my glasses and is my expert there for dry eye. Tae has been wonderful in helping make appointments and now does other administrative functions... super nice.

Awesome staff, Dr take time to listen and give clear answers

I called to schedule an appointment for my son, I was told they accept my insurance. They told me I had to pay out of pocket and mail a detailed receipt to the insurance and would be reimbursed. So I paid $70.00 and got my detailed receipt and called the insurance when I got home to see where I was supposed to mail the receipt to. I was told by my insurance (chip, geisinger) that they don't reimburse and I shouldn't have paid out of pocket. Chang Eye Group is listed as a provider. I've been going back and forth with the insurance and they told me Chang Eye Group is claiming they haven't been getting paid by the insurance. The reason for this is pure laziness and a little extra paperwork. They aren't using the correct code for claims. I am still waiting for my $70.00 back which will have to be given from Chang Eye Group. This all could have been avoided if they just stopped saying they accepted my insurance. This insurance does not reimburse, I would have called another optometrist to schedule an appointment. So if you have Chip/Geisinger insurance, do not go here. We pay $268.00 a month for insurance and should have never had to pay $70.00 out of pocket.

Made an appointment for my child. Was told that our insurance plan was accepted when making the appointment and confirmed with our Health Plan. After exam with doctor, met with another staff person to order contacts. Was told that the "retail" side doesn't accept our insurance, only the doctors do. Today I received a bill in the mail for my child's exam. Very disappointed and believe that this place is very deceptive in its business practices. I would not recommend them!

Extremely rude receptionists at the peters branch. If you have another option I would avoid!

This was my first appointment with Dr. Chang and I was greeted with smiling faces when I checked in. I wear contacts and my exam was quick and professional. I received great help from Mary Beth picking out a pair of glasses, and finding frames that looked good on me. I look forward to my next appointment with Dr. Chang and his awesome staff!

I was having an eye issue and needed seen quickly. They got me in pronto. The receptionist on the phone was super friendly and professional. My check in was a breeze and I can't say enough good things about Kayla who was the best! I saw Dr Chang and it seems I have severe dry eye. So glad I got taken care of so fast. Thanks you so much for all your help and professionalism!

My wife and I recently became new patients of Chang Eye Group. The entire team at the McMurray store is fantastic. Reception helped us straighten out our insurance and made us feel welcome as new patients. Dr. Schraeder is thoughtful and took time to listen and answer our questions. Again, a very welcoming feel. To top off the experience, Janice in the optical department is incredible! She is knowledgeable and has a very good sense of the glasses that would look, feel, and fit great for each of us. And her knowledge of the labs and insurance and how to manage everything for the best products at the best cost is unsurpassed. We are very happy to count ourselves as patients of Chang Eye Group.

Very friendly staff, and convenient location! So happy to have found my new optometrist. Dr. Weatherly is great!!

This office has a convenient location, available appointments, and a very friendly staff. I recommend it to anyone new to the area, or looking for a new eye doctor.
