While I agree with some of the other online reviews of Dr Sloat and his professionalism, I can not say anything positive about the office staff. I’ve been a patient of Dr Sloat for many years, but have not been to get to the office in several years. COVID and other health issue have prohibited my annual check ups. Today I called to schedule a return visit, but even though I offered to pay cash, I was unable to schedule an appointment without first providing insurance information. Not having my insurance information available was not acceptable, even though I stated I would pay myself if needed. Remember, I’ve seen Dr Sloat for well over ten years, closer to 15 years. Clearly the office is more concerned with making money and not patient care. When I requested a copy of my records I was told it would take at least 30 days and I would have to pay an unreasonable amount to get them. Mind you all someone would have to do was select “print” on a computer terminal. When all was said and done, the office could not have cared less if I left the practice for more reasonable care.

I worked with Dr. Sloat and over a few years observed his professionalism and demeanor with patients. i was his patient also, and he quickly diagnosed macular degeneration and immediately that minute sent me to a retina specialist at Mid-Atlantic Retina and hooked me up with Dr. Joseph McGuire.
