List of Dennis Braun's Reviews
Each time I have been scheduled within 2-4 weeks, waited less than 15 minutes and Dr. Braun was excellent in his diagnosis. I was never kept more than necessary past my appointment time and given all that doctors, nurses and staff must do on a daily basis, coupled with PPE that was not an issue 3 years ago, there is nothing but positive things I can say about MidAtlantic Urology. Yes, the office is a bit dated, the reading materials are limited, but I am not there for a hotel stay, I am there to be diagnosed and maintain my current levels of medical care.
If I could give zero stars I would. My husband went to Einstein ER yesterday morning at 6 am. CT scan showed a 1cm/10mm kidney stone and a kidney twice the size it should have been. They inserted a tube into his kidney yesterday afternoon with the hope of stone removal today. Nope, Dr. Braun sent him home with a hope to call him 2 weeks to schedule surgery. TWO WEEKS with a bag coming out of his kidney and a HUGE stone. Oh and two days worth of pain meds. My husband told Dr. Braun today that he was suicidal and Dr. Braun told him that there are many other people in the hospital with much bigger issues and we're dying. And he told my husband he didn't have time for him and walked out. Walked out on a patient who said they were going to kill himself. How is this guy still practicing? My husband and his kidney stones will be finding another hospital and urology group. Unbelievable. If I could give zero stars I would. My husband went to Einstein ER yesterday morning at 6 am. If it was possible to give this doctor BELOW one star, I would certainly have. I'm not sure WHO let this guy into medschool or how he even passed, but this guy should definitely not be a doctor. A doctor seeks to treat his patients, and this "doctor" completely ignored - belittled - and undermined his patient, lacking bedside manners, while scamming his patient out of his copay. This guy shouldn't be a doctor at all; this guy needs his license revoked. So much money for a short time of being belittled, looked down upon, mistreated, and not even a proper consult. Literally a waste of money and time, don't go here... :/ If it was possible to give this doctor BELOW one star, I would certainly have. "I'm the doctor, you're the patient."- Dennis Braun. Those were the words that I heard before I had the strongest urge to leave the appointment. And to this day I regret staying. I was there for a check-up on an SP tube that I recently had surgery to put in because my urethra was destroyed by inflating a Foley catheter inside of it. I was only curious why Braun wanted to remove the tube to check inside my urethra. But, against my better judgement I stayed and allowed him to remove it. We spent the next painful 45 minutes trying to reinsert it to no avail. I then spent the next two months having to urinate myself whenever my bladder was full because I had no means of relieving myself. It was excruciating and embarrassing. And being a quadriplegic it wasn't the easiest to manage. After two months I was able to get another SP tube implanted and I've had to have one ever since. Dr. Braun left me with a stent after an emergency room procedure involving a kidney stone. I have awful side effects, yet the doctor can't be bothered to answer a single question. Regardless of the severity, his staff's answer is the same, "it's normal". I need two more procedures, yet the office will not give me a quicker appointment, since I'm not an existing patient. When trying to relay my urgency, his staff yelled at me, told me to go the emergency room and hung up on me. These people have no compassion. They do not care how much pain you are in, or how long you have to wait and suffer. Dr. Braun left me with a stent after an emergency room procedure involving a kidney stone. Saw Dr Braun several years ago for kidney stones. The first time he treated me, stents were inserted. I’d had stents ELEVEN times before and always had quite severe pain with them. Dr Braun refused to give me any more pain meds and told me “I have pregnant patients with stents who don’t complain as much as you”. The second time (and why I allowed a second time I don’t know), I had a stone that was blocking my ureter and causing hydronephrosis. Dr Braun said since I had issues with stents, he wanted to put a nephrostomy in. Fine. I wasn’t sedated enough and woke up TWICE screaming during the procedure. After 1-2 weeks with a nephrostomy, he decided it was time to pull it. The stone had never been removed, and was still stuck. So after the tube was removed, the hydronephrosis immediately came back. I went to another hospital and received better, more respectful treatment. Dr Braun is an unpleasant man with terrible bedside manner. Saw Dr Braun several years ago for kidney stones. Abrupt, hurried, impertinent believes he is a mind reader.
Met Dr Braun the first time Feb 9, 2021 on a visit for my husband, his patient. Asked a him question and felt immediately dismissed and belittled by his obviously obnoxious behavior. Was so taken aback by this blatant unprofessional manner I stopped talking. Truly don’t even recall if he ever gave me an answer. Next visit, I’m outside the exam room, Dr Braun passes by on his way back into the room and chuckling, he makes an unprofessional and derogatory comment about my husband THAT I CAN HEAR!!!...HELLO, I’m right here I wanted to say. Strike three for me happened during an after hours call that guess who picked up, yep, Dr Braun. Made his annoyance with our question audibly noticeable, curtly gave a one word answer then said “kindly reserve such questions for office hours, this was not an emergency.” About calling during office hours, not much better. Front desk staff and one nurse have been just as dismissive and unprofessional as well. Truthfully, only two people I’ve dealt with at this office K, their scheduler and A the one nurse we usually see, have been rock stars. They go out of their way to be kind and helpful. Sadly, I’m afraid they know how rude everyone else there can be and feel the need to pick up the slack for their unprofessional colleagues.
Dr. Braun and his staff have provided wonderful service. I have seen him in the office and as an inpatient. The course of treatment he recommended exceeded my expectations.
If Dr Braun & his staff could be given ZERO or Negative stars, that's what this rating would be. Extremely rude, dismissive when questions were asked of him. Did absolutely NOTHING at this appointment, Thank God..There was a patient in another room literally screaming in pain & the staff outside room was laughing. Unbelievable. Please do yourself a favor and do not expose yourself to this very unprofessional, and apparently from other reviews, very uncaring ph If Dr Braun & his staff could be given ZERO or Negative stars, that's what this rating would be. Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
