I’ve been with Dr. Somers since I moved to Philadelphia in 2017. Yes she asks some questions that people do not normally think about, but I see how it could lead to whatever issue I could be having. She helped me with many issues I’ve had over the years with no judgement, which is nice after so many other doctors/OBGYN usually give that look of. It may seem like she doesn’t care but I can tell she just wants to keep each appointment that. It’s own appointment.

I always feel comfortable visiting with Dr. Somers. She's efficient and willing to talk and explain. She has a good repure with her clients. I'll miss her once she retires next year.

I moved from Philadelphia two years ago and still have not found a replacement obgyn as great as Debra Somers...she is no nonsense but I always felt she listen to me and did the best thing for my health!

I’m not surprised to find reviews calling Dr. Somers rude. At my first (and last) appointment with her I shared my medical history including terrible PPD and the weight gain (I had recently lost the 50 lbs I had gained) I experienced during that time. When I mentioned the weight gain she asked “Did your husband still love you?”. Those were her exact words. I was so taken aback that I just said “yes, of course” when I really should have got up and left.

I have been going Dr. Somers for a couple of years ! She is the 1st gyn that we talked, and she listened. Dr. Somers pulls no punches she tells it like it is ! However, I have to say she is professional and personable. I have never felt that she hasn’t or didn’t care or treated me disrespectfully!! This is why I recommend Dr.Somers.

Extremely rude and unprofessional. She belittles and berates her patients and then blames it on her blunt honesty. The 1 and only time I went to her was for a routine papsmear. The whole time she was talking about my weight.. I know im overweight, im working on it, I came to her for a PAP not a weight loss consult. She was constantly cutting me off and not allowing me to fully answer her questions, blaming my irregular periods on my weight without doing ANY testing prior. She didn't give me ANY privacy to get dressed after the PAP, she just sat down at the computer and told me to get up and get dressed. I will NOT be going back, I HIGHLY suggest you not go to her. She should not be working in this field if she cannot be honest while being kind and gentle at the same time.
