I called to make the appointment and explained what skin biopsy I was there for, arrived at my appointment with skin biopsy referral from my primary care dr in hand---which they didnt even want to look at! I checked in and started the new patient paperwork. I was called back to a room where the assistant finished the paperwork and talked about my biopsy request. The assistant returned with the doctor who informed me there is no such thing as a skin biopsy for my referral reason. She proceeded to try to push me off and call Penn Med, which by the way I have already done. Then informed me that because the doctor came into the room it counts as a seen doctor's visit I have to pay for. Not one person there could have told me they wont biopsy the skin for this particular connective tissue syndrome in the multiple conversations prior to the Dr opening the door to "see me"?? And in the next breathe I was told you do biopsies for other connective tissued diseases but that I didn't have that. I asked what other diseases and you didn't even want to explain what you meant. I never even removed my coat to be looked at and now you're diagnosing me as not having whatever diseases you wont even talk to me about?? You didnt even want to see the referral I had and next tried to tell me to see a Rheumatologist. When I questioned why a Rheumatologist you then told me to ask them if they would see me to diagnose me so I wouldn't get charged by them too. This place is worthless and their level of care is a joke. No wonder you can get a quick appointment if they don't actually take the time to listen to their patients needs. I could have avoided this if I had known that just because your primary Dr requests a test doesn't mean that test actually exists. I guess primary care doctors just make up tests now. So do yourself a favor and ask questions when making an appointment to be sure they can handle your request. Since I am now a patient who "has been seen" at this dermatologist office and will be getting a bill in the mail, I will be requesting my extensive patient file for the next Dr to look at.

2 years of asking for my records to be forwarded to a MD that knows my name when she comes into the exam room. Pretty poor medical standard to ask the patient where the melanoma was located and then proceed to tell you you are on medicare before your 65th. Horrible experience.

They cancelled my appt by text and then offered me a arbitrary date and time and they kept texting me with arbitrary dates and times for another appt. I called and told them to stop and they haven't stopped so this is them just harassing me. They also kept insisting that I cancel the appt for some reason. Buncha nut cases as far as I'm concerned. I blocked that number as well.

Really disappointed. I recommend my sister go here for her skin cancer evaluation. She received her cancer diagnosis via the portal with no follow-up for over a week. She called every day and not one person called her back. Then today she finally got through and was placed on hold today and overheard staff speaking negatively about her. I won’t publicize what they said. They should be ashamed of themselves. I’m mortified at the lack of professionalism, lack of communication and lack of general care she received. She will be transferring her care but I thought other people should know how they treated her.

very disappointed… first my daughter got there and waited 45minutes just to be informed the check in desk said she never showed after she checked in early and had them talk to my wife on the phone. She rescheduled and at her next appointment the doctor tried to put her on a “acne” medication without telling her it was really an off brand pill for kidneys or heart. Very weird how she didn’t give my daughter any details or ask if she had questions just told her mother to call if she had any questions. Definitely do not recommend for anyone under 20 or anyone interested in quality service.

I had a very disappointing experience with Schweiger Dermatology Group when trying to book an appointment with Dr. Charles Mayers, MD. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to reach the office by phone (no one answered), I booked through their website, which unexpectedly redirected me to Zocdoc. Although I selected Dr. Mayers, I was only able to book with a junior assistant instead. The website indicated a free 30-minute visit, so I proceeded. During the visit, I specifically requested a skin screening. The assistant briefly brought in another provider to do a quick check. The entire visit — including changing clothes — took less than 15 minutes, and I received no meaningful explanation, feedback, or medical guidance. To my surprise, I later received a bill for the visit, even though preventive skin screenings should be free or covered by insurance, and nothing was communicated clearly beforehand. When I called to dispute the charge, the staff was dismissive and simply told me to “call my insurance,” taking no responsibility for their own billing or booking practices. This experience felt misleading, rushed, and unprofessional — from the inability to reach the office, to the confusing booking process, to the unexpected billing and lack of accountability. I would not recommend this office based on my experience
