My past appoint with Dr. Wei Shen was awful. Told me I was late when I was there and checked in for my appointment on time, He cut me off while trying to answer his questions multiple times, attempted to lie twice about something I was able to show him he was being dishonest about, Then finally told me to come back in 3 months because “he didn’t have time for me”. Also needs training on body fat percentage and its correlation to body weight. My previous appointment with Dr. Tabesh was significantly better on every level. Professional and insightful. - Jorge

My husband's arm is swollen and purple, it looks horrendous. He went to the hospital and they told him to see his physician right away. He has been going to Dr. Kimmel's office for many years. He called the office and asked if a doctor could take a look at his arm. The associate told him they were totally booked. He called back and asked the same associate if he could come in and hopefully get a doctor to look at the arm. She said, yes, come in and see if you can be seen by one of the doctors. When he got there the office manager, who for identification purposes is a redhead, (he didn't get her name) was quite irate and told him no doctors could see him. She wanted to know who told him to come in. He said he didnt get a name. She went to the back and asked the associates which one of them told him to come in and they all denied taking the call. In all this time she could have asked one of the doctors if they could take a look at his arm. It would have taken about two minutes. But instead of doing the right thing, she was either irate with him, thinking he could see a doctor who was totally booked or the associate for telling him to try. He left the office without being seen. I got a call after he left and the associate was quite nasty. She asked me what phone number my husband used to call the office because she wanted to listen to the recording to see if an associate told him to come in or to see if he was LYING!! She took me totally off guard. I said "He just wanted a doctor to look at his "friggin" arm!!! She said if you take that tone with me I'm hanging up. I screamed, "he just wanted someone to look at his arm. Needless to say we are done with Somerton Family Medical Office. On an after note, I needed my statin medicine refilled and the pharmacy called the doctors office for over three weeks until finally they listened to the refill request. If you call the office no one gets back to you and my husband has the same problem getting a prescription refilled.

I have type two diabetes needed to refill my prescription of Janumet could not get a refill until I see the doctor seven days later have not taken any medicine since will be back in the hospital before my appointment No medication or help thanks somerton family medical for nothing!!!!

Dr Kimmel was always very thorough and always helped me through some tough times but WOW this clown Dr Shen just blows me out of there and then insurance bills ya. I have been having severe pain with all my joints and my wife who is a nurse had to show him the bloodwork to do. But the most insulting part of this is when he called me telling me it’s severe rheumatoid possibly and as soon as I wanted to ask some questions he rudely and abruptly cut me off and said he was with another patient and had to go . He actually raised his voice. I was dumbfounded. Not to mention they are overbooked and never answer the phones! But will track you down repeatedly for your co pay. Please find another place.

I started at this practice before Dr. Kimmel sold and joined Holy Redeemer. Dr Kimmel and Dr Matthews were great! Never a problem or an issue. Dr Matthews to our disappointment has since left the practice and I started seeing Dr. Shen. Dr. Shen seemed ok at first. However, at my last appointment he left me dumbfounded! A little back story both my parents were sickly. 3 years very sickly and they actually didn't tell me how sick they were. Gravely sick. Yes, I did all I could to help them. My mom passed away in December of 2022. I ran myself ragged for 3 years. I was diagnosed at the office with mild depression and passive suicidal thoughts. It was bad. I have since sought a mental health professional and have been in therapy for a year now. Just recently I saw Dr Shen. The whole appointment seem to focus on my weight gain. He seems to have dismiss the fact that my mom had passed away. He said depression/anxiety/loss has nothing to do with the weight gain. He even asks me if I had been sitting around eating too much ice cream and candy! Then he turned his focus to sleep apnea, said it was probably that and prescribed a sleep study for me. To say I was insulted was an understatement. I will never see him again.

Somerton Family Medical is a beautiful place to visit. No matter what you're going through, you can assure yourself that you will receive the best of professional medical care. The Med. Assistants are very nice and calming., giving you an immediate sense of welcoming and understanding.. they have a waiting room and you can enjoy coffee while you wait, along with the Internet and quiet environment. Holy Redeemer is connected to the same building for lab and other aides.

Dr Tabesh is very kind and attentive. However the rest of the facility is horrible. All recent reviews speak for themself. They ALWAYS have a nasty attitude. No matter how nice you try to be to them that's if they answer the phone which happens very rarely you will still receive horrible attitude. When they finally answer, they refuse to see you and send you the ER. Office manager Helena is an example of everyone else that works there. If you hate your job, do all patients a favor and quit.

She shein is the pit’s horrible how does he practice medicine this so called dr is horrible

Dr's are good but office personal are not . They don't answer phones or call you with any test results and also do not complete insurance papers when asked 1 year ago all personal was much more efficient

Lately the office service has not been doing the job that the previous office workers did The now do not answer the phone do not give you your test results and they do not fill out the paperwork I really need for my Insurance Company. My fault is not with the Doctor but the office employees as the job is not getting done by there staff as I have gone to this office for 34 year's but is the worst year and will most likely be my last year
