I have nothing to say about the doctor. But the staff is horrible. I made an appointment for my husband who has been in tremendous pain. They could not get him in til a week later. I asked to be put on cancellation list. Gave the receptionist all his information. I even faxed over his insurance card. A week later, I called to confirm my husband’s appointment and was told that dr will only be in the office in the morning. No calls was made by the office. Tried to reschedule but is now told that they don’t take my husband’s insurance. They had the insurance information a week before. They did not check like they said they would. Now my husband is in great pain without a doctor without an appointment. They have horrible office policy. Avoid yourself an aggravation and go somewhere else.

Dr. Shannon and his PA Dominic performed my R. Total Hip replacements in December using the Frontal Approach December 16 and I returned back to work with No Restrictions on February 25. These two are one of the finest Surgeons I have ever met in many years with involvement in nursing. The famous Dr. in Salem, Ohio wouldn't even see me due to my BMI(Wt). When I meet Dr. Shannon, he told me I would have no problem because I am built like a football player. He was RIGHT 100%. Not to mention that the Follow Up Care was EXCEPTIONAL. It is clearly evident that Dr. Shannon and his Medical Staff go far beyond that extra mile to see that the patient outcome is that of sucessful results. He and the Medical Staff members at Southwoods Health are a true asset to the Mahoning Valley. On a scale of 1 to 10, it is my honor to give them a 10+. Thank You for your expertise. Your Surgical Hands gifted by God changed my life for the better Again.

When I had trouble getting to his office he came to my HOME

I seen Brian Shannon only twice" one week ago and again today on 10/18/21. only to be so disrespected and walk out his office full of tears. After waiting over a HR and two seconds of him sitting down to be called a lier and he don't believe anything I say. He claims I had a exray of my back 8 days ago at Sharon hospital the more I asked where do you see that he told me he's not going to play games with me" I told him I'm not playing games and to let me see where it shows I had a exray 8 days ago because I did not. And I began to tell him the last hospital I was in was months ago and it was saint Elizabeth hospital in Ohio. He again called me a lier. I then told him he was being very disrespectful and not professional at all. Again calling me a lier . Then told me the reason I'm passing my bowels has nothing to do with my back. I then explained I have multiple infections inside my stomach. People I can not stress enough how degrading this man made me feel. I got up and went to walk out and said to him what doctor just calls a patient a liar. And tells them if your looking for pain medicine the only thing you'll get is some Tylenol with codeine or some tramadol. Even know I never asked for any pain med. I was refused to have a new x-ray done. only too look at my back. I went to my car and called my husband and was crying and told him what happened. I went back inside the doctor's office and asked can I please have the paperwork that he claims I just had a x-ray eight days ago. They gave me a copy and it clearly said my last one was on 8/10/21. All I know is this is not over I called the better Business bureau and my medical insurance. I'll definitely be getting in touch with a attorney. How do you take a oath to help people and instead you're disrespecting them not helping them in any type of way. The nurse came outside and apologized to me and said she would talk to the doctor because it wasn't 8 days ago and it was at saint Elizabeth hospital. they are connected with Sharon regional.

I was finally referred to Dr Shannon after years of Dr's trying to help with non surgical options. Dr Shannon got me in pretty quick due to the amount of pain I was in. I was fully expecting a 6 month plus process. I was referred and received surgery within about 6 weeks. He was great. He explained everything and translated the medical terminology in a way that my wife and I could understand at my consultation. He set me up with surgery quickly after so I could get pain relief. He also offered my wife and I to call at anytime prior to surgery with any questions or concerns so that we felt comfortable and there were no worries. The day of surgery ghe again made sure my wife and I were comfortable. After surgery he talked to my wife 1 on 1 and went over everything with her so she could be at ease while waiting to see me. After the surgery the cut was very small just a few inches and very clean. I feel like Dr Shannan gave me back my life and I will be going back to him if I ever need another procedure like this. He went above and beyond to help not only me but my wife. There needs to be more Dr's like Brian Shannon.

Called the office and spoke to Stephanie, most rude and uncaring person I have ever spoken too. Could care less if your in pain or not and referred me to my primary doctor. Surgery was done by the doctor i called not my primary. Get a job where you don't have to deal with people as you are terrible at it.

Dr Shannon is the best in the biz! Had back surgery on New Years Eve 2020. Tremendous experience and SouthWoods surgical hospital is top notch.
