List of Medexpress Urgent Care's Reviews
Even being short staffed they were able to help me out, I appreciate it SO much.
I went to med express this last Sunday August 12th. I was staying with my mom who is very sick so already stressed I just needed to get care quickly. I gave the male receptionist my license and insurance card. I have federal health insurance with very good coverage through my husbands work. I also checked before hand to see if they were in network. I have out of network coverage as well. After waiting awhile he called me back up and told me that he had trouble getting it through the system and it would be $190. Then told me to go to the UPMC urgent care. I have had the issue before and politely asked if he could call to verify my coverage. Still smiling he slapped both my cards down and said “ no I’m not doing it” in a super rude tone of voice. It was creepy and mean. I am concerned he had my license while I waited he gave me the heebies. I feel uncomfortable he has my information. I was just like okay bye. I took his advice and went to upmc and had no issues. They were very polite and I got my health issue treated. Really he did me a favor. If the receptionist is that way i can’t imagine the billing issues and poor care in this case non existent care I’d get. I didn’t stick around to argue I just left he had all kinds of bad vibes. On the other hand upmc urgent care did a good job and I was in and out. So 5 stars for them and 0 for med express do not recommend. If you are a woman do not go there while this guy is there. My husband was with me so I think it could have been worse. I’ll be calling their corporate office to let them know what happened.
Med express 3/31,2023 Was there from 4:45pm till 8 pm the first time. Went to the rest room in the waiting room, the floor was wet, my knee gave out ( reason I was there is because of my knee) as I was turning and I slipped and fell. Catching myself on the hand rail by the toilet. I hurt my shoulder. I did tell the receptionist at the front desk what happened. She said she would tell them in back and ushered me out the door. 4/7/23 Upon the return visit was told I would have to pay for the exam on my shoulder. A week later, and I am still having problems with my shoulder. 4-27-23 The Director called me after this review )on the 17th) said she would see what they can do for me and I have not heard back from them. The pain is waking me up at night in tears. I feel like they don’t care. 4-30-23 The Director was supposed to get back with me two weeks ago about me falling in the restroom and hurting my shoulder. If this would’ve been looked at when I first fell, I would not have a problem. But it has been a month and I’m still not receiving any Word from anyone. This is unacceptable. 5/2/23 Received a phone call stating I could go in and get examined for free. 5/3/23 Went in for exam. Did an X-ray. 5/4/23 Received phone call stating anything beyond that exam I will have to pay for. After stating I should not have to pay for an accident on their property. They will look into what to do next. 7/19/23 I have been getting a bill for the X-ray, that I was told would be covered, for $345.00!!! Went to an orthopedic dr and paid $75.00. Had the MRI done today and that’s going to cost over $1000.00, for falling on water in the rest room and catching the handicap rail. 7/24/2023 Received another bill today. Also went to the doctor for a follow up on the shoulder, another $75.00. I have a torn rotator cuff and it requires surgery.
The receptionist was not pleasant at all. Was told I had to have an appointment for a Drug test for work. She refused to get a manager and told me that she was the one I charge because no one else was there. She was very very rude. Told me I would have to come back in a few hours when I don't live in the area. The sign said either you could set up an appointment or walk in and she told me that's not how she does things. It's appointment only. Very dissatisfied. I called my company and informed them of this. They apologized and told me they would not of sent me there if they known that.
Every time I've been there the physicians and nurses have been great!
Appreciate the professionalism and dedication given by staff for my visit that met my needs.
Thank goodness for the professionals at Med Express. Very little wait time and great help.
The slowest place and the service is trash been here for two and half hours like come on shut the place down if u can’t get ppl thru fast enough highly slow don’t go there
Went for a sport’s physical. They seemed just want to get it over with and did not care too much. Other places were more thorough with it but here did the bare minimum. They also weren’t the nicest people to talk to.
Cynthia was an amazing nurse! She has an awesome personality and it was very evident that she truly cares about the patients she helps. It was a pleasure being under her care and it's even better to know there are still good kind people left in this world today! Great job 👏 👍 👌 🙌 More people should aspire to be like you! Thank you for the great experience!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
