List of Chris Y. Fan's Reviews
Oh did that person have to wait to long to see a top notch endocrinologist who is not only seeing his patients in the office, but these Drs get calls from the hospital all the time with emergencies. Who drives that far and makes another appt that doesn't allow for any unseen incidents. I assure you that Dr Fan wasn't in his office taking a nap while you had to wait a bit. A Dr with the credentials of Dr Fan is going many hours a day non stop? I to felt I had to answer that unfair review of a very good Dr. I was one of those patients in the hospital who's Dr called on Dr Fan to see me on an emergency basis in the hospital when my blood sugars would not stop dropping below 50 no matter what they tried. If you want a Dr who will not take up to much of your time then don't make an appt at Hershey. These Drs see patients in the office, at the hospital, in the ER, and are teaching medical school students and training Drs in various stages of residency. I'll gladly wait my turn however long it takes to see this caliber of Dr and wouldn't make another appt for 45 minutes to an hour after a scheduled appt with a Dr at Hershey medical center. That's just plain assnine
Dr. Fan made recommendations after he read my records carefully. He followed up quickly after lab work and a sonogram was done.
Dr Fan is simply great at what he does. My wife is a type 1 diabetic and is now at the lowest A1C of her life thanks to his expertise. I felt the need to review after seeing the other person's 1 star review only because they had to wait a while... That person needs to realize that waiting a little while at a hospital is actually a good thing. That means that you aren't the one with the extremely urgent needs. 5 stars all the way for Dr Fan!
I arrived 5 minutes early for my 4 :00 appt. Waited 25 minutes to get a room where the nurse grilled me with questions then said he would be right in. At 4:45 there was still no sign of him and I had another appointment. I left the room and went to the receptionist desk to ask for co pay back since I had to leave and never saw him. Just then there he is, he asked if I still wanted the appt, I had to say yes otherwise I would have to wait 8 MONTHS for another appt. I came from Lancaster to Hershey which is a 40 min drive only to wait another 45 mins for him to grace me with his presence and on top of that I was late for my next appt. NOT IMPRESSED. I will find another Dr, hopefully one who respect there patients and their time.
Would not. wanted appointment in Camp Hill but sent to Hershey. Wanted Dr. Fan and got Deb Sheppard. Wanted test results never received them . wanted 3 month follow up got 6 months. wanted a change in diabetic meds to Januvia or prescriptions refilled got nothing. I called and had the pharmacy call to get any diabetic meds . I took a home A1C (home test kit) since no results given from Dr. Total wait time for various phone calls was long
BEST Endocrinologist ever!! Given the specifics of my circumstance, this man was unbelievable..
I contacted him as I had a rapid weight gain hand and legs swelled. He emailed me back informing me I might be in heart failure to call my pcp.never called or suggested I come in completely ignored me. He never looked or touched me at the one appt I did have. Condesending. He spoke more to the resident. End of the story I ended up at another hospital in acute kidney failure.
After being misdiagnosed for 6 months I finally saw Dr. Fan. He listened and took a very objective view of my case. Turns out I had hyperthyroidism and was able to get the help I needed with him. 8 months later I have had surgery and am doing perfectly well. All thanks to Dr. Fan listening and working with me.
Arrogant is a good word to describe him. Used medical terminology so much I had to tell him I didn't know what he was talking about. He seemed uninterested. Almost annoyed with me. No bedside manner. No compassion. Did not impress me with his knowledge of treating hypothyroidism. In fact, I'm not sure what he knows about treating anything because I really couldn't follow him. The young medical student in the room was sweet and concerned. That was nice. I left feeling frustrated and with no real treatment plan. Waste of time!
I was doctoring with my family dr. he took care of my diabetes for 10 years my sugar was always high I kept telling dr about it but blew me off ,had ultra sound of liver kidneys and pancreas but be cause of gas was told nothing was wrong by dr. I went todr fan had sent records ahead plus test results, the first thing he described my problem and ordered test to confirm it was hyper thyroid glads took 24 hr urine test to confirm then I was set up right awawy to see dietion she but me and wife a carb diet since that day my sugars hane been 100 or lower amazing I trusted my fan mily dr to take care of me , now thanks to dr.fan he is going to be my dr.now, we chated a little put he left me do some talking then he talked he is very precise on all we talked about glad I him on line

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
