List of Jerome R. Lyn-Sue's Reviews
I had a very positive experience with Dr. Lyn-Sue. In 2018, he performed a hernia repair on me, which was very successful. Everything went exactly as he explained prior the the surgery. He called me two times at home to follow up and check on my recovery.
I agree with Jeff Freeze! I initially had a vasectomy from Dr Clark which went fine at first but I developed an inguinal hernia, Dr Clark diagnosed it and referred me to Penn States general surgeon group. I got Dr. Lyn-Sue. He diagnosed me with nerve pain BEFORE he even did an exam and he told me hernias do NOT cause pain!! He wanted me to go to pain management and get on pills and maybe get a pain block done down the road with no real hope of recovery. I immediately went to my prior surgeon who did my appendix removal at Lancaster General, they agreed I had an inguinal hernia and did the surgery and now I’m pain free! This Dr., I believe, has a different motive. How can you look a patient in the eye and tell them they don’t have a hernia and even if they did say they don’t cause pain!?!? An inguinal hernia is VERY different from an umbilical hernia. Even the nurse who came in after him said, of course they cause pain! Stay AWAY from this Dr.! Jeff Freeze if you read this contact me, I would like to discuss your situation.
Dr. Lyn-Sue performed two hernia repairs on me. Everything went as he explained before the surgery. I could go home after 24h and didn't need any pain medication. He called me at home twice in the following days to check on me. Excellent surgeon, very friendly and caring.
This surgeon operated on me and when I developed complications he abandoned me. I ended up in Hershey Medical Center for five days which he entered my hospital room stating he was not going back into the surgery site and left my room without even walking to my bed side to examine me. He did not return my phone call or answer e-mails on their patient portal. He consulted with a Dr. Soybel who never examined me or came to my hospital bed but he put in my chart Soybel agreed with him. Sent to pain management which they did pain block then said need orders from doctor to perform procedure which he did not write. Nerve damage specialist was going to help me but he never made referral. Pain management resident bullied me telling me I'm not different anyone else surgery and pain go hand and hand. Ended up losing body parts and still having complications to this day. Complained to patient advocate Lori Yeingst and CEO which had meeting with his boss Dr. Randy Haluck and he told me my complications not from their surgery and they admit no wrong doing even though all problems in surgical site. Pinnacle Hospital and John Hopkins doctors told me surgeon damaged my nerves and veins from his surgery. Spoke to Steve patient safety coordinator who was to have took my compliant to new medical director two months ago never heard back. To this day Hershey Medical Center not providing care. Don't expect any other surgeon at Hershey to help you if you develop complications because they will gather around each other in support while refusing to help you. I hope this post prevents someone from having the same experience.
He really cares about his patients. I sent him a portal email about a concern before my surgery and he personally called me to explain the concern I had about the procedure. That was a first. I wou,d highly recommend Dr LynSue. He explains things so, as a patient, you understand. He Is not in a hurry during appointments.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
