My father has been going to Dr Haaz for years and has never had anything but superior care.

William S. Haaz is an arrogant, pompous physician and should learn compassion and sensitivity when dealing with his patients. My cardiovascular system is far too vital to my well-being for me to be subjected to the treatment that I experienced with Haaz. Haaz failed to realize that medical care is not a one-size fits all approach. All patients and situations are unique. Furthermore, health care providers should always listen to the patient so he can understand the fears and/or concerns so he can take action to alleviate. It is unrealistic to think patients are going to blindly follow whatever a doctor says without having some sort of confidence that the procedure is needed, and he is the best person to perform the procedure. Haaz grossly failed to do so. He also failed to alleviate my concerns regarding the recommended procedure. I recommend prospective patients read this review before seeing Haaz, so they can be prepared to be ignored and belittled.

This was my first and last time that I saw him. He recommended that I have several cardiovascular studies conducted, which I had performed. To my surprise, Haaz informed me that I needed a cardiac catherization. This was most disturbing news to hear since I was not experiencing any cardiovascular symptoms and never had. I told Haaz that I had several questions. Several days later, he called me and rudely and abruptly told me that he “would only answer my questions once and only once.” When answering my questions, he was abrupt and gave belittling and nasty responses. Throughout the conversation, he took the offensive and made me feel uncomfortable and treated me as if I did not have the right to question his medical knowledge. I find such behavior to be totally unprofessional and unacceptable. I had pertinent, reasonable medical questions concerning the catheterization procedure and my cardiovascular system. Having a cardiac catherization is a very significant medical procedure, and I have a right to have my questions answered in a professional manner rather than to be made to feel as though I should accept whatever a medical provider tells me without questioning whether it is right for me. I would give him an overall rating of less than a 1 (one) if that was an option. William S. Dr. Haas stormed into the office, began firing questions at me, interrupting me before I had an opportunity to complete an answer, was just generally rude, dismissed any concerns I had without explanation, then told me I had high blood pressure, which I don’t, he had gotten me so angry my blood pressure had spiked. He then went on to order an echo and lipids test due to family history. Upon getting results of those tests through the patient portal I was expecting a phone call since there were abnormalities. No phone call. Finally, after some time, I called, was told he would call me back, he did not, his receptionist did… three weeks later. She said, “he said don’t worry the tests are ok”. I’m sorry, but getting vague second hand information from a receptionist about test results is incredibly unprofessional, I’m not calling about my internet connection, I’m calling about the organ that keeps blood flowing through my body. Unbelievably awful experience from the beginning.

Took my mother to see him many times over the years. However, the very last visit my mom had (pre pandemic) she lost a lot of weight and her ankles were severely swollen which made it hard for her to walk. She was on medication but only had an incident of A-fib-- 14 years earlier. Usually we would see Dr. Haaz in Jenkintown, but the Northeast office is closer for my mom, so we saw him there. She had a 1pm appt. which we were 10 minutes late, because mom couldn't walk fast from the car. It was the first time in this office location. Since we were late-- she went to the back of the medicare bus so to speak. Just as we were about to leave mom was seen by the Doctor at 4pm; do the math. We were so frustrated by the treatment, when my mom went in finally and I complained to the Dr. he denied any of it and wasn't very sympathetic to a person who could have had a heart attack just from the wait. Maybe that is what he wanted --makes more $ that way. When I questioned him on her swollen ankles he said it was her varicose veins, I said, "What"? She has had them for 30 years and her ankles are only now swollen--sorry but no relation. If I wasn't there (my mother couldn't advocate for herself) then she would have been written off sooner. Amazingly, an Echo was ordered for another day. This Dr. is terrible at prevention, you deserve better. Also, the front desk women at the Northeast Philly office are rude. Dr. needs to retire now! Seniors, you deserve better.

I've been a patient of Dr. Haaz for some thirty years and would not go to anyone else. The wait in his office can be long but, well worth it. You will not be disappointed. He really cares.

Had an emergency visit with dr. Haaz. Office was closed at 4 but he saw me at 6:30 pm and spend time. He explained everything and answered any questions I had and did not rush me. Very caring doctor.
