List of Ian Katz's Reviews
After a broken femur, I was taken by ambulance to Conemaugh hospital. Because of the pain, I was given morphine and don't remember anything for three days. After my release, was moved to a rehab hospital, then home therapy, then outpatient therapy. Could never improve to the degree they wanted, and felt there was still a problem. Went back for check ups, and Katz told me there was nothing wrong. After 10 months of outpatient therapy, I requested a CT scan. Katz said there was nothing wrong with my leg and NO, he would not order a CT. I left there, called my family Dr to request the CT, had it done on a Monday at 1pm and by 4pm had an urgent call from my Dr. saying there was a major problem with my leg. Found another Dr. who said he wouldn't operate and I needed to see a specialist in Pittsburgh who deals with difficult cases. Had to have more surgery but he couldn't completely fix the problems he found because of the damage done. Dr. Katz is NO GOOD!!!
Horrible experience. Rude, arrogant, no bedside manner whatsoever. My 6 yr old son broke his arm and was terrified when we went and was extremley shy, Dr. Katz told me that I needed to teach him manners. The poor kid was in signifigant amount of pain, 6 yrs old and scared and had the audacity to say that. I will NEVER go to or recommend him to ANYONE. when leaving i witnessed him also being very condescending to his fellow employees. Someone needs to teach HIM so manners.
The most ignorant Dr I have ever encountered! I took my 90 year old mom and he was so rude and would not even listen to anything she had to say. He walked in our room with attitude, stated about 3 minutes and that was it! ! Never again.
Great outcome for my full knee replacement Nov 22. Was walking without walker or cane by mid January & dancing for girls night out mid March! Pretty good for 67 yo! Very happy with Dr Katz straight forward, no nonsense manner too.
Excellent dr. He had studied my r ray and knew exactly how to treat my knee. Friendly but not chatty. Really knows his onions!
Excellent dr, very good staff. Had my arthritic knee treated and got r the best outcome possible. He had considered my Earlier X-rays and was right on it. Knows his onions! PS. I mean to give the highest rating, but may not have got my stas right.
This man is the rudest human being I have ever met. His bed side manner is appalling.
DR. KATZ DID TWO CARPAL TUNNEL RELEASE OPERATIONS ON ME. HE IS A GREAT SURGEON. HE TREATED ME WITH DIGNITY.
Rude, short, and treats you like an inconvenience. Was especially sad to see how he treated his fellow co-workers. I feel so badly for the nurses that have to work with him.
Dr katz repaired my torn Achilles, repaired my torn meniscus and hes done a fantastic job. I agree he doesn't want small talk, he gets right to the point and he doesn't mess around. I feel 100 percent comfortable knowing dr. Katz is the one doing my surgery and wouldn't go anywhere else. He's doing my ACL here soon and I'm not even nervous knowing he's my doctor. And let's not forget about the staff. They are always nice, smiling, willing to help. Every time I call with a question on the phone they are so polite and I always get the answers I need. Professional. Katz is a beast

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
