Phillip Gvozden's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Gvozden is a terrific doctor! He makes sure you take care of yourself so you don't have to end up in the care of doctors! He cares! If you end up needing a specialist he will make sure you get to the Dr. to help you. His staff is the best!

I would not recommend Dr Gvozden. He doesn’t have a very good bedside manner with his patients. He can be rude at times and dismissive. The biggest thing that upset me about my appointment with him is the fact that he had a tobacco chew in his mouth while he was in the room with me and spit it out in the garbage can while he was talking to me ! Wow! So unprofessional and just gross! Conemaugh Hospital really should do something about this immediately. I have known other people who saw him and said the exact same thing!! He has been doing this for years apparently and continues to get away with it .... I thought conemaugh was a tobacco free hospital including all of the Drs. Offices ...? Needless to say I was not impressed at all and will not go back.

I like Phil, but the new nurse Dani seems bothered if you ask questions.

This doctor chews tobacco and spits in the trash can throughout the entire visit!!! He acted like he really didn't want to hear about my mothers problems and was typing on the computer when we tried to explain what was happening with her health. He didn't explain ANYTHING or give any indication of what could be happening with her. He did send her for lab work and other testing but didn't explain what for or why. I would NOT recommend this doctor.

I like going to Dr. Gvozden. He genuinely cares for his patients and it shows. His staff is friendly and kind too.

Horrible, horrible bedside manner. Went in for excruciating jaw and ear pain and a jaw that would only open very little. As soon as he walked in the room he lectured me to not say I have a locked jaw. I said, "but my jaw is locked, I can't barely move it." He abruptly stated, "you have pain in your jaw, not lock-jaw. I again said, "my jaw is locked up, I can barely move it. And I didn't say I have the disease 'lock-jaw'. He again stated that I have jaw pain, not lock-jaw and if I did have it I wouldn't be talking. He then asked when I last had a tetanus shot and I replied 5 years ago. I then told him I have pain in my ear also, so he got his instrument out and shoved it in my ear, making me jump in pain. He shook his head in disgust, and said I have to put up with the pain if I want him to look at it and jabbed it in again without apologizing. He stated he saw nothing but would order drops for my ear also wrote out an order to get an X-ray. He also lectured me that I should have saw my dentist first. He then stood up and started walking out the door and told me to follow him. He never checked my jaw, never asked where it hurt in my jaw or when it hurt, how bad the pain was, etc. I was probably in there for a total of 5 minutes, and felt humiliated, stupid, still in pain, and had no answers. I will never return to the doctor nor recommend him to anyone.
