List of Aerlyn Dawn's Reviews
Dr. Dawn may be a skilled practitioner but his insensitivity, lack of communication and the way he rushes through procedures and leaves you waiting for hours in the waiting room is inexcusable. He leaves most of the work to medical assistants and comes into the room only to cut. He left the room before I was even closed up and bandaged. He did not provide instructions, let alone say "goodbye, nice to meet you or have a nice day". The practice schedules far too many patients in the same day leading to 2 hour wait times waiting for results. He did zero follow up. The appointment to remove sutures was done completely by a medical assistant with no supervision or wound check by a physician. Dr. Dawn was not even in the building for my suture removal.
"So sorry I went to him. He worked very quickly and chose not to explain what was done. Mine was a small basal cell cancer on my forehead. When I asked how many stitches there were and how large the opening was he said his assistant would tell me. He called her out of the office and when she came in I asked again. She said she didn’t have that information. Not getting information about a procedure on my face is bad enough. Now I’m hoping the raised welt from the wound will get smaller. "
I was not pleased with the outcome of a recent Mohs surgery on my nose conducted by Dr. Dawn. The region affected by basal cell carcinoma was substantially smaller than the scar I have been left with. In the course of suturing the wound, a substantial amount of healthy tissue was damaged. Further, after a couple of days, the wound had showed signs of infection. I do not know the source of this infection but I cannot rule out the possibility that the infection occurred during the surgery, given how quickly the symptoms emerged. I do credit the support staff with quick intervention (putting me on anti-biotics and restoring a healthy healing process). After 5 weeks, the wound has healed but now I'm left with an unsightly, depressed scar. I will need to seek restorative treatment elsewhere. I would not recommend Dr. Dawn. He showed poor judgement in the application of sutures and was not engaged in monitoring my recovery.
Surgery on left thigh close to year ago. Still dealing with his lack of care and unprofessional bedside manner ….. follow up and concern for your care is rock bottom. Avoid this surgeon.

He did a terrible job with my MOHS surgery. Left my face scarred when it should never have happened. Find someone else
He is the best
Dr Dawn is a very good surgeon so I have been told. However, I sensed that he is either arrogant or very uncomfortable around his patients. He lacks people skills. I saw him for a MOHS surgery procedure. He seemed uninterested in how I felt and my concerns. I felt like he thought that connecting with the patient’s concerns was ‘beneath” him and something his techs should handle for him. His techs are really good and I felt much more comfortable with them than with him. Hopefully, at my follow up visit following this surgery, my impression will change.
He leaves all the explaining to the assisstants, is not friendly and kept me waiting an hour after getting numb on the uncomfortable table. He may be a good surgeon but needs to work on people skills.
Dr. Dawn is an excellent surgeon. Very accurate and professional. Complicated surgical repairs with minimal scarring. His assistants at the office I’ve been treated at are friendly and really put me at ease!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
