I have been going to see Dr. Castelli for several years now and I can say i feel very comfortable going to this office. Staff is amazing and friendly and treats you like a person not just another patient. Dr Castelli is VERY knowledgeable and I fully trust him. I can ask any question without feeling like I’m bothering him. He makes time for you. Sandy is super friendly as well and always helpful and insightful. She always makes me feel comfortable too. I always recommend Dr Castelli to anyone looking for an OB/GYN.
Dr Castelli is one in a million! He knows his stuff and I can always trust he is doing the right thing! His nurses Tracy and Sandy, & Lisa at the front desk are such dolls! Thanks for being apart of the two most important days of my life and making sure not only my boys but myself were safe during the whole pregnancy and delivery!
We found Dr. Castelli about 6 years ago, when we were expecting our first child. We LOVE him and Sandy and the whole crew at WHCS. We have 4 children, and I have received prenatal care for each of them with Dr. Castelli, and it's always been a wonderful experience. He's attentive, thorough, and encouraging, and he empowers me (and my husband!) to feel competent and comfortable through each pregnancy and delivery. Coming back to him with each pregnancy has been a joy and I've loved building a relationship with him and his practice over the years. Though we've moved to Downingtown (previously lived in Ardmore) I will still continue to see him for general GYN care (and prenatal care should we have any more children!) because we have appreciated his care so much. Highly, highly recommend!Edited to add! During my most recent appt with him, I had to bring our baby who is 3 months old. She was fussy, but the nurse, Sandy, came in and offered to hold her and calm her down, and she and Dr. Castelli were so patient and relaxed about the whole thing. Made me feel so at ease being there with the baby!

I will never go with another OBGYN. Dr Castelli and Sandy are the best in the area! I don’t even live close anymore and I still see them because I refuse to switch. I have been seeing Dr. Castelli for a little over 5 years now. He is very knowledgeable and takes time to listen to your questions. Sandy is caring and makes me feel very comfortable; they both do!

I was with Dr Castelli/Women’s Health Care Specialists for my first trimester of my first pregnancy. During this time I received next to no care - had no blood tests, urinalysis, or cultures done; received little basic information about pregnancy & symptoms; was refused consultation about my morning sickness/weight loss; and had an infection that was left untreated.-During my initial visit at 7 weeks I had a physical exam, but no blood work or urinalysis were offered to screen for common issues or infections.-I was told that Dr Castelli would not be “doing any teaching” about my pregnancy, but that they had a Nurse Practitioner who would give me this info at a separate appointment.-It turned out the NP was not available for 3 weeks. When I said that I had some more immediate questions, I was given more time with Dr Castelli. I asked only my most pressing questions, thinking I’d leave the rest for the NP appointment.-To these questions, I’m not sure his advice was good - he said there was no issue with lifting heavy objects (30-50 lbs) or with frequent exposure to polyurethane and paint fumes from my business. Other practitioners later advised stopping or limiting these activities, so at least he should have indicated the lack of medical consensus. (His tone also came across like my concerns were a bit ridiculous… maybe this was a wrong impression but it’s not a feeling I’ve gotten from another doctor previously or since.)-I was told to schedule an initial ultrasound at the hospital to check size and “if the pregnancy is viable” (his words and not the ones I would have chosen, but ok) plus one at 12 weeks for NT testing. He also said to schedule genetic screening with his office for 12 weeks.-In the meantime, I decided to switch to a different practitioner. The new practitioner didn’t have any openings until my 13th week, so advised me to continue the 12 week tests with my current practitioner.-When I called Dr Castelli’s office to schedule the 12 week appointment, they could see my scheduled consultation with the new practitioner because both are in the Axia network. I said I was planning to switch for location reasons and left it at that. But due to my having this other appointment, they refused me any further appointments or care there, effectively leaving me with no care for my pregnancy during the 3 or 4 weeks prior to my switch to the new doctor.-They canceled my upcoming appointment with the NP, which I had been waiting for to finally learn basic information about pregnancy from a medical professional and to ask my remaining questions.-I had been planning to ask her about my morning sickness/weight loss during this appointment. When I explained this to the office manager and asked if someone else could talk with me or what I should do, she said maybe the new office could see me sooner. (They couldn’t, but did give me some advice over the phone about taking b6, which helped.) When I said I felt I was being left without any care, she said I could contact them in an extreme emergency. I wonder why they have their office manager making medical decisions about when their patients should or should not receive care.-During the first visit at the new doctor (during week 13) the nurse was surprised I’d had no lab tests done to screen for common health issues. I had to get 10 vials of blood drawn at once to catch up on testing.-When the results came back it showed I had an infection! I had experienced some symptoms but couldn’t differentiate them from normal pregnancy symptoms. If Castelli’s office given me a screening or more information on typical pregnancy symptoms, this infection could have been caught as much as 6 weeks sooner, saving me a lot of discomfort as well risk of complication.Overall the best I can say about Castelli’s office is that I’m glad I left it early and didn’t experience any more serious issues while supposedly under their care.
If you are looking for a thorough, gentle, kind, super knowledgeable and highly skilled OBGYN then look no further than Dr. Castelli. He is highly regarded by every professional I came into contact with at Bryn Mawr Hospital where he delivered my baby masterfully. Easy-breezy, non-complicated and always on time appointments. All the doctors, nurses and receptionists are a true pleasure, and you will always feel comfortable being in their care.
great doctor! Delivered both of my babies. Highly recommend.
If I can give this Dr 0 stars, I would. He has the worst bedside manner I have ever encountered in a physician. I went to the hospital to be checked if I was in active labor and he told me I “can’t come in”, which contradicted everything I’ve been told by my OBGYN. He spent more time scolding me for coming into the hospital than actually asking or speaking to me about anything else. He then told me I wasn’t dilated at all and to go home, which 2 previous OBGYNs told me I was 2cm? Quite frankly, this was THE worst experience, if my water broke right now, I would take my chances and go to another hospital rather than deal with him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
