Most accommodating physician

Since January 2013 to July 2020 I have been a patient of Dr. Hanley. I have been impressed with his knowledge of the human body and his bed side manner. I have had 5 surgeries and he has walked me through the procedure in detail. He is my favorite orthopedic surgeon. I will miss him immensely. With the covid-19 Dr. Hanley is retiring on July 1, 2020. I have had only positive experience from Dr. Hanley and the staff. When I need to get in for an unscheduled appointment they always fits me in I might have to wait a little bit I don't mind. I did my research on Dr. Hanley and he is the only Orthopedic Surgeon with no post operative infections at Adventist Hospital. I am very choosy on who I let operate on my body. Over my life I have had 9 surgeries and Dr. Hanley and staff have made me feel like I am family. They address me with kindness and grace.

Did a fantastic job on my left knee in August 2016. His whole team is warm, fuzzie and efficient. Adventist Hospital Orthopedic wing is exceptional.

I saw Dr. Hanley after waiting almost 1 hour - he had double booked his patients - no accident. He spent approx. 5 minutes with me with no eye contact. His staff was rude and unattentive. Very difficult to get a timely surgery scheduled due to a number of factors. My perception - he is working to get in as many surgeries as he can ($$). Finally wound up going to someone else.

I found Dr. Hanley to have a terrible bedside manner. He spoke in medical terms that I could not understand and had to ask him to repeat himself in terms I could understand. He was only in the room 2 minutes to explain his diagnosis and never asked if I had any questions. He only sees patients twice a week because the rest of the time he's in surgery. I found the wait to be extremly long (over an hour) and will not return to see him again. I will be seeking a second opinion. I will not be recommending him to friends or family.

I have been seeing Dr. Hanley for over twenty years for activity related injuries as well as age related maladies. I have come to know him as a surgeon and a person. I find him and his support personnel to be extremely accessible. It is like being part of a family. A rare feeling to have in a doctor''s office. He is generous and caring. When I turned sixty five and was looking for supplemental Ins.to go along with Medicare he told me to choose what ever I want even if it was Kaiser I will still treat you. I have never experienced this generosity in care anywhere. What a pleasure it is to see him and his entire staff.

I have found Dr. Hanleys bedside manner, and surgical technique to be both professional and sincere. His speaks frankly about the pro's and con's of different treatments and starts conservatively. Not every "menisical tear is a surgical offense". I also work in the OR at one of the hospitals that he frequents and know that he is weel thought of by operating room personel and by his peers (other orthropedic surgeons).

Dr. Hanley treated me with respect and dignity. I was referred to him by my family doctor for chronic bursitis. I had no insurance. He not only gave me the best medical care-he treated me for free. This included several xrays. His office even refunded me the money I paid for cortisone injections! I have recommended him to several people-they have all been impressed with his service. I wonder if you just happened to see him on a 'off' day?

This was the rudest most patronizing doctor I have ever seen. Acts as if he is a god and we should all be grateful to be graced by his presence. Whatever. I really needed a Knee scope due to ongoing pain and he kept basically saying it was all in my head. I finally got a doctor who would do this and found a torn meniscus. I am now pain free.........yeah! no thanks to patrick hanley
