I would give 10 stars if I could. I crashed my motorcycle on a forest road, causing significant injury to my entire left side: Knee, hip, ribs and shoulder. I managed to get the bike up and to the hospital at which point I had to call the hospital and ask if they could send a wheelchair to their ER parking lot to get me as I could no longer walk. My experience at UPMC, from that first minute, was exceptional. I was treated by the kindest, most compassionate group of professionals I have encountered. I am now well on the mend and very thankful to the wonderful staff at this hospital. Being from Nebraska, I had no idea where to go, so fate did indeed smile on me by getting me to this wonderful place.
My 17 year old went in trying to get an MRI, with what everyone is telling us is a labrum tear or a rotator cuff tear, only to be talked about among the nurses and treated with disrespect. I, the mother was told that MRI' s are only done in emergencies unless ordered by an orthopedic doctor or her primary care doctor. She us in PA for college and I live 24 hours from PA and we don't have a doctor there and NO one would help her. If it is torn, and they did nothing to help her and turned her away in excruciating pain.. I will be filing a formal complaint against this ER, the nursing staff and the hospital. Has our society gone downhill so far that we won't help a college athlete or anyone for that matter get help at an ER?? Disgusted mom of a minor...
Went for a mammogram today. Front desk lady overly explains that they're short staffed and there is currently only 1 person checking people in when there are normally 2. The second person got called to work somewhere else in the hospital. The woman told me I should tell radiology that the front is short staffed and that's why I'm late. She said radiology can be very rude to people who are late, and I wasn't late. (All she needed to say is that they're short staffed) About 10 minutes later the same woman from the front desk came over to tell me that she called radiology and let them know it wasn't my fault I would be late. About 5 minutes after that, a second woman comes over and asked me to self check in on the computer. I did and she walked away. Once I was done I asked the first woman if I should sit back down or stand there and wait. She replied with "I'm not sure what the procedure is." So I started walking back over to the chairs to sit down. She said, "Excuse me, don't walk away". I walked back over to her and she said "Please be patient, we're doing the best we can" in a very rude tone. Ummmm, I wasn't complaining, nor was I the slightest bit annoyed or impatient. When I asked if I should wait or sit she said she didn't know. If she wanted me to wait why didn't she say so when I asked? Anyway, the second woman came right back to get me and sent me on my way to radiology. The rest of my experience was great. No problems, not much more of a wait. But, of course that couple seconds of rudeness from a single person is all I can focus on.
I went to the ER last night 4/20 around 830pm ish with extreme back pain and the doctor and my nurse was super amazing and was so helpful. Of course couldn't heal it but they got the edge off and pointed in the right direction to get the issues fixed.
The doctor and nurses on were so RUDE AND UNFRIENDLY! When you're feeling at your worst you don't want to be treated like a nuisance the way that I was treated also they forgot a medication that they were supposed to give me and completely made me feel like crap they did nothing to help me nothing to treat me and rushed me out of there faster than you could believe I'm very disappointed in how they treated me they better not even think of sending me a bill because it will be shredded and returned LOL! Do not go to this ER they will treat you like complete crap and a nuisance and they will throw you to the dogs like they did to me.
Quick, friendly service, but lack of medical equipment... The place isn't that big, so don't expect there to be a lot of services you'd usually get at a bigger hospital, but the service was quick and friendly, but despite the lack of equipment they had, it was an overall pleasant experience.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
