List of Devashis A Mitra Md's Reviews
Dr. Mitra is not concerned about good patient care. After 6 years of seeing him and having my pain well maintained with no medication changes in 2 years, he said he could no longer prescribe my medication and I would have to find another doctor. I am in the process of trying to find another doctor however every rheumatologist I have called is booked until October. So now I have to go 6 months without pain medication waiting to see a new doctor. All of this because he didn't follow proper protocol when prescribing the medications. He has over 700 patients all now with pain control issues due to this "oversight" in his knowledge of reportable medications. I did receive 2 shots in my back during the last visit that was supposed to hold me until I saw a doctor. The PA came in told me that Dr. Mitra told her to cut my meds, give me the injections, and refer me to a pain doctor. So she did all of the above. Two months later I get a bill for $209 because there were co pays that I was not told about. Dr. Mitra himself told me that it's the patient's responsibility to check for co-pays not his staff, even if the patient needs to stop the exam and check right then. That could make for some long office visits.
I have been going here for many years. Dr Mitra and his staff have been nothing but helpful throughout the years. I strongly recommend anyone with any condition that he treats to go here.
Was told the be there 30 mins early. Then sat for nearly an hour and a half waiting to be seen. This is the worst patient care I've witnessed in my life. Lights filled with dead flies.
This doctor is awful! Wouldn’t answer my questions and I had to ask at checkout to see what my diagnosis was. Did not realize he was calling in 2 prescriptions and a myriad of tests. Said I had to give up gardening, mowing, walking each morning, and all he could do for me was to try to make it so I could at least dress myself. And said when he left the room he wouldn’t give my case a second thought!! BTW.. I just finished washing down and staining my house. Will get another opinion
very good
This guy is probably the worst doctor I've ever seen. He couldn't have cared less why my wife was in to see him, had a very condescending attitude when talking to her and did absolutely nothing to help her. All he did was write her a slip to get the exact same blood work done that we were there to talk to him about the results of. The office was also dirty. The air vents looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years and were caked with black dust. I would recommend staying far away from this joke of a doctor.
I can only testify to the doctor's character for reasons that will be evident in a moment. My girlfriend and I came to this office seeking treatment for her chronic fatigue syndrome after being pointed in this direction by the internet. The doctor reviewed her paperwork and advised us that he could treat her, but he felt that she would be better off going to a pain clinic to deal with her chronic pain before he tried to work with us on lessening her fatigue. He then sent us on our way with recommendations for doctors and pain clinics in the area and didn't bill us a cent. I can't help but appreciate a man that is so much more interested in his patients' well getting paid. Also the staff in the office were incredibly nice and helpful as well. We will definitely be back when she's ready.
Dr. Mitra is a one in a million doctor. After a recent serious medical issue, he was the one specialist out of many when I was in the ICU to diagnose my rare disease. He is a no nonsense, straight talking doctor who gives you all the time and attention you need to see you through any situation. His staff is equally attentive, responsive and professional. In tough times, you want Dr. Mitra and his team on your side.
In 2015, I was experiencing increasingly painful acute gout attacks, after suffering with this disease for over 50 years. I had tried everything over the years, and was at wits end. My wife was describing my problem with a friend of hers over lunch, who said her her husband had also been suffering with gout, and that after being treated by Dr. Mitra, was practically pain-free. She gave my wife his phone number, and I called and got an appointment. I met with Dr. Mitra, who took one look at my hands and feet, which were swollen, and prescribed an immediate medication program. Within days, the pain and swelling were subsiding, and today, five years later, I am back to being mobile like I always was before. I can now play golf again, although the medication has done nothing to improve my score! I continue to see Dr. Mitra on a regular basis, and have had no recurrence of acute attacks of gout. I attribute all this to Dr. Mitra, and would recommend him to all who suffer with this painful disease. George Winger, Harmony, Pa.
Caring staff and an excellent doctor who truly cares for his patients.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
