List of Joseph F. Demario's Reviews
I called Penn State rheumatology to make an appointment and they said I need to find a PCP to make the referral. The amount of time Joe spent complaining about how busy he is that he can’t make that referral wasn’t as bad as when he said my issues were from the pollution in the Cumberland Valley. The same BS my last inadequate PCP told me for 3 years before I became permanently disabled (not from pollution)! How much do you want to bet he found the time to bill Medicare for a worthless visit? The office staff were all wonderful, sorry they have to work with a man (he’s not a true doctor) who doesn’t care about his patients. Stay away!
Best physician around this area. Very nice bedside manner. Very timely, however, he doesn't make you feel rushed out. No treat em and street em at this office!!
He’s a good doctor, very up front
My wife and I have seen Dr. DeMario over the past 20+ years for a wide variety of problems and conditions, During those consultations, we have been repeatedly impressed by his diagnostic expertise and his ability to convey essential information to us clearly and unhurriedly. In retrospect, each of his analyses has been right on the money. We both come from large cities, are well-educated, and can be demanding of professionals, but I must say that our trust in Dr. DeMario has never been misplaced.
Absolutely patronizing jerk when it came to answering questions, listening, or explaining train of thought.
Worst doctor I’ve ever seen! Kicked my husband and children out of my appointment and told us to find a babysitter. The medical advice I got from him that day was all wrong and dangerous. Saw another doctor the next day who properly treated my infection he refused to treat and also treated my thyroid and adrenal insufficiency which Dr. Demario chose to ignore. I could have died listening to him with a primary immune deficiency I cant play around with infections. He suggested a sleep study. Laughable. Wonder how much of a kick back he gets for each one of those referrals? Avoid at all costs. Mean, miserable doctor who totally ignored dangerous illness even after I pointed it out.
Dr. D has been our primary care doc for over a decade. He is pretty direct on things. Gives good advice and listens to issues and answers all our questions. Some folks say he is rude but the truth is he is straight with you. He's not my therapist or buddy but my doctor and I appreciate his no-nonsense approach. Over the years, he's become more personable. Never rude. He diagnosed different ailments quickly and accurately. His office is clean and organized and the staff is always friendly. The nurses all are great too. Easy to set up appointments, get prescription refills and we don't wait very long to be seen.
Worst doctor I have ever seen! Kicked my husband and daughters out of the room as soon as he came in. Told us he can’t work with kids in the room and we needed a babysitter. Gave him my recent labs to look over and he said everything was fine. Next day, a better doctor determined my pituitary wasn’t working from looking at the same labs and started me on necessary replacement of cortisol and thyroid hormones. He listened to my lungs and heard me wheezing and rattling and said it was because I was an asthmatic. I have a primary immune deficiency and I told him that. The next day, my oncologist started me on antibiotics because I have an infection a lot of inflammation from the low cortisol. I could die without antibiotics with a compromised immune system. If I trusted him I could have died from an infection or low cortisol. Something is wrong with this guy. I bet I’ll see him on some true crime tv show some day. He’s not just a bad doctor but his personality is so far off normal.

Dr DeMario was Responsive, professional and knowledgeable- I don’t understand or agree with any of the negative reviews- if you’re looking for Dr Welby it’s not him. But if you’re looking for thoroughness and accuracy I would put my money and my health on him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
