List of Upmc West Shore's Reviews
Wait time in ER averaging 10 hours . People are in ER because they are sick. Pathetic to have dozens of ill people sitting in a room together for hours on end.
Brought my friend, 70 years old, to West Shore at the recommendation of her heart doctor. Heavily congested, trouble breathing. She has COPD and congestive heart failure. It is now 7 hours and she still has not been seen by a doctor. Bloodwork, xray and ekg done 6 hours ago. Horrible way to treat an elderly ill person.
Care team was amazing!
This place is the worst ER I have ever been to. Even after an 8 hr wait no one in this room has seen a doctor and most have given up and just walked out. Do not ever come here.
If I could give a minus5 I would. I took my dear companion of over 40 years to West Shore Hospital for Lab work. He needed blood work, chest x-rays, and other labs. Our family suggested WS hospital for the full service they can provide. We arrived approx 6pm. I was told at about 8:45 to expect several more hours wait. I asked why. They explained emergency bed patience patients get cared for first then ER patients are cared for. I can understand this issue but we were there for the Lab Dept not ER. My man is sick with cancer and Edina, he has heart issues and other problems. We weren't there to sit in an ER waiting room for 7 hours or more. He is 84 years old. They should provide a Lab Dept for their clients. Their ER patients would get quicker service also. 2 departments I'd called for. Many of the overcrowded waiting were in the same suffering situation. Wake up West Shore UPMC and help your clients before they won't come to you any more!
Don't know why I came..Suffering at home is much better then pain meds and a empty IV bag for hours. Triage is a joke .
Amazing staff in the ER way better then any Er around went to holy and sent me home said I'm good went here spent the day getting better 😀 awesome group
New to area & had to take hubby to ER. Very impressed with service from check in to discharge. Checked in immediately & barely sat down when they were calling him in. ER nurses were on the ball, due to his physical complaint they brought him in quickly & got tests done right away. They did all the tests his family doctor wanted done & then a CXR too. ER doc was good, aides were good. I'm a nurse and I can say I felt really good about the quality of care hubby received in the ER and in a timely manner. Also they were very professional and friendly & they made me feel welcome and not in the way when they were working him up. Thank you July 5 ER registration & nursing staff (1:30 pm - 7 pm). I appreciate the care you gave my husband.
I had a hysterectomy on june 22nd by dr maureen roberts. She is one of the most amazing doctors I ever had. She performed my surgery there and I cannot thank her enough. The check in at 540 am. They were extremely amazing. The nurses are amazing. My stay was amazing. I'm so blessed that they made this hard situation great. I want to say thank u to all that took place in my stay there...and dr roberts u are the best oncology surgeon ever..I thank u a hundred times over
My mom has been in hospital since Junr 6 2023. Everyone from ER to private room have been very kind and helpful. She is being treated respectfully. I have nothing negative to say.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
