Great surgeon. I do a lot of research before I see any doctor. I couldn’t find all that many reviews on colorectal surgeons and I typically exclusively see female providers. I was very nervous to see Dr. Esser at my first appointment, but I have nothing but great things to say. It took a while to fix my issue, but it he was able to resolve it. Thank you, Dr. Esser! I thought I was having a complication after the last surgery, I may have been in the early stages of an infection (just something that can happen, no one’s fault). I went into the er to be checked out and he met me there first thing in the morning. I couldn’t ask for better bedside manner. He has always taken every issue I had seriously and professionally. He is a little quieter or more reserved than some medical professionals, but always ready to answer questions. I also have to note that when he didn’t have a perfect answer for me he had no problem admitting that and letting me know I was always able to get a second opinion. I can’t recommend him enough.

Dr Esser literally saved my life. I couldn't be more satisfied with the care & treatment I received from him. His ability to inform & explain procedures equals his compassion and understanding of his patients. I highly recommend Dr Esser if his Specialty is ever needed. He's the best...beyond 5 stars!

Dr. Esser has a very nice bedside manner. I had a colonoscopy at Jefferson Hospital. Everyone was so friendly and helpful!

Dr. Esser is a professional and caring physician. He visited me each day I was in the hospital and made sure that I was comfortable. I was home from diverticulitis surgery in two days with minimal discomfort.
