Forbes Hospital's Online Review Report Card

I am the victim of bad staff. I I have autism. Yet, I was lied to be gotten out of my clothes. And that caused me to freak out, after, my legal kidnapping. and then tricked out of my clothes, one of which being sentimental, item. I was then drugged, which I did not fight at all, nor harm anybody. As soon as everybody left the room, I continue to freak out, and then an officer popped in and threaten to arrest me.. at that point under the threat of her arrest he was able to stop me from spazzing out. I had been ripping up the clothes they forced me into after stealing my other clothes.. he leaves and then I begin to go into a panic attack and end up in a corner, freaking out as I begin to fade idk! The thing that hurts the most when reflecting is they sent that same officer in to call me down like I was going to see him as a sense of comfort instead of a threat. I was in and out of consciousness, and then I eventually find myself in a room with a big window showing me where I wanna be walking. I was then told I need to have a hearing in that if I don’t accept the hearing that I could be stuck here for an unpredictable amount of time. But I was promised that if I agreed to their terms, I would only be there for five to 7 days. I am less of a child than I was then, so I know that I had no clue what was going on. And was being coached for us at result. Something I did not need nor believe in.

This is the worst hospital that my elderly mother has ever been to. There is no communication whatsoever between the doctors and the hospital staff to the patients or their families. I will never let my mother come here again. One person tells you one thing another person tells you something else. They kept trying to discharge her without us even knowing what was going on or what she was being treated for. It took us almost two full days before her hospital Doctor got in touch with us to let us know what actually was going on. Then the 4th day they called me and said she is being discharged today for sure so we went to visit her they sit up the discharge and transfer to the rehab facility then her cardiac doctor comes up and says he wants her to have a stress test tomorrow but apparently did not say anything to the nurse about it because she still had her set up to be transferred. Then they are wondering why we are getting so frustrated!! This is why!! I would give it zero stars if I could!! Patient health care is declining! These hospitals are forcing these patients out as quickly as possible doesn't matter if they are still sick. Worst experience ever. Apparently they do not read these reviews anyway because there are many more just like mine for years. So don't expect any changes anytime soon! My mother got discharged yesterday 1/8/24 they said they had a transport scheduled for 7:30 pm, I found out on 1/9 that she did not get transported until 2am!!! What inconsiderate person let's this happen to someone her age!! NEVER AGAIN!!

I arrived in excruciating stabbing pain in my back on the right side and was evaluated right away then waited as they did many tests to find the problem. I spent over 9 hours in triage but never felt neglected at all. The entire staff at Forbes is amazing and I commend them for all their hard work especially in these difficult times of staffing and unbelievable sickness that abounds. Every aide, technician, nurse, NP, PA and doc provided me with outstanding care and I’m truly grateful. All my tests kept coming back with no obvious result to this pain but I was determined to get an answer so I personally did my own research while waiting for the last result from an MRI and as it turned out when the NP came in to review those results with me she had also suggested that same diagnosis! She immediately ordered me a powerful IV steroid that night and for the first time in 3 days I actually fell asleep peacefully. When the nurse came at 5am for dose two I cried because I could finally sit up and get up without that stabbing pain! I was elated and rested the remainder of my stay then was released with more steroids to take at home. I still have pain but it’s dull and I can feel this illness finally leaving my body. By now you’re probably wondering what I was diagnosed with. It turned out to be PLEURISY but it never entered my lungs so I never had chest pain but I did get winded every time the stabbing would hit me. Apparently Pleurisy takes on other forms and in my case started in the muscle of my chest wall/rib cage which is why I would get so winded with the pain. I still don’t know how or where this came from and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I’m 64 years old and hadn’t heard the word pleurisy since I was young but now several friends have told me their experiences with the disease. I have been a Highmark patient for decades and always choose Forbes as my hospital of choice. I love all my docs in the AHN network (especially my specialists) and every single nurse that attended to me this time but more importantly I must say that NP’s are angels of mercy because they really do CARE about their patients! Thank you so very much to ALL who helped me get better. I pray we all have blessings and good health throughout this challenging new year and that 2024 will be much better than the last three! Never, ever use FORBES hospital! Very unethical in the manner in which they treat or actually don't treat their patients. They will out right lie to your face and will not treat the root cause of your illness. They do this so they can charge you and your insurance for expensive test of your symptoms. After days of delay, broken commitments and once confronted about their dubious actions they said it was my fault because I didn't have a PCP. Absolutely disgusting! So for three days I lay in their unsanitary hospital complaining of a severe headache and chest pain but never given the most common treatment for the condition which they said could cause a stroke and heartache.They lied once again saying a specialist will see you when you are released yeah in like 30 days in which I could be dead. I found a service provider 1.2 miles away that saw me that evening and treated the condition with the most commonly used and medically recognized treatment. Needless to say the new medical doctors were shocked by my story and advised I file a complaint with the medical commission in Pennsylvania. WARNING! DO NOT USE THIS HOSPITAL! IT COULD BE A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH! YOURS...

12/5 was the date of my visit I cannot warn people enough to stay away from Forbes emergency room. The front desk is nice, from there I can tell you absolutely everything else falls apart completely. Me and my fiance go back to triage where I explain I'm there for vaginal bleeding and I'm pregnant. I tell them I have hospital related trauma, PTSD even, triggered by hospital settings. I let all hospitals know this as my fiance is my safe person who keeps me calm. I ask triage nurse drawing blood if that's cold saline and before I can get anything else out she flushed my line, thankfully the amount wasn't enough to send my body into an episode because my body doesn't handle cold saline due to a condition. Which had she of given me the time of day she'd of known. Transport comes to get me, my fiance is handing me the stuff we brought. I get sat in the chair and have my stuff and transport loudly and rudely goes "okay so can I go now?" In the most demeaning voice. My fiance says yes and asks to come with me, transport woman says no rudely and more or less says she doesn't understand why significant others think theyre just allowed to come back and I look at her and I'm like because I want them there and I have hospital related PTSD and she's like well not in your charts... And keeps giving my fiance attitude for any questions asked, finally my fiance says God forbid I ask questions, and a woman who's husband was there to be seen who'd been there longer than us says "God forbid she look up from her device" she finally takes me back, I'm anxious and started to panic I ask a nurse if my fiance can come back she's newer and younger and says let me ask, the older woman she asked says "Nope, No, absolutely not" in the room she was in without I don't know learning why it was asked. So she comes out and I'm like so my fiance father of this baby really isn't allowed back and she's like yeaaaa noooo And I'm having a full blown panic attack at this point I mean I am sobbing And she turns looks at me and goes.... So do you want this testing or not? I say yes because I'm terrified for my baby. I'm sitting on a table partially undressed, panic attack, traumatized, and terrified I'm losing me and my fiances baby while getting MY VERY FIRST ULTRASOUND for this baby... I will go to UPMC , I will go to Presbyterian, I will go to magees I would sooner bleed out in this hospitals parking lot than receive anymore treatment by them

E.R. overcrowded, Customer Service Stacy R is a joke. She is rude and Monica at the desk is no better. Where is the PROFESSIONALISM? Not much communication here.

My grandma went to this hospital. Then died the day that she got in there. If I could I would give this hospital zero stars.

My father James Robert Morris stayed at your hospital for six months. All Dr. Tandon did is let his bed sore get worse and more worse, her explanation to me is sometimes these things happen. How does these things happen under a so called educated persons watch. Your system stinks .

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! The ER doctors and nurses are out of network. I'm getting bills from US Acute Care Solutions which is a total scam company! Highmark keeps giving me the run around with billing. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!!
