Very welcoming and thorough examination.

This doctor is condescending and conducts business unprofessionally. I sold him cloud-based software and billing services for his practice. After a couple of weeks he decided to not move forward. Since a contract was signed, I needed to get some information from him in order to negate the contract. When I asked him what happened, he blew up at me, writing me a nasty email about "my place," how I had done nothing with my life and how I had squandered my education. He said I provide no value to society and called me a few names. All of this was written without him knowing anything about me, my life, my education, etc. After receiving the email I looked him up online and saw that the reviews people have left him match my experience. I would never send a loved one to someone like this.

I first met with Dr. Werblin on June 27, 2015. He was congenial and asked about my medical history and my medications. He spent about an hour with me, unusual for a psychiatrist at a counseling center who is only in once a week. He refilled my medications, including my Suboxone (8/2 mg two tabs per day). My follow-up appointment was Friday, July 24, 2015, at 8:30 am. At that time, Dr. Werblin and I discussed a couple of changes in my meds, but left the Suboxone the same. Dr. Werblin put the prescriptions into some electronic database. All of them were processed except for the Suboxone, which was pending a prior authorization. Thinking that this was an insurance issue, I called Atilla George at Affinity Health Plan. She advised me that I already had an authorization in place, which is in effect until August 25, 2015. Upon further investigation on my part, it was determined that the prescription was being held up on the State level. It never reached my insurance company, nor was it even submitted to the pharmacy. I sat around at CARE until 1:30, at which point I was told to go home and it would be "handled." It was not handled. Catherine from CARE called the counsellor at my house (Options for Community Living) and told her that there was nothing that could be done until Monday, and that this is what I got for making an appointment on a Friday when I was that short on meds (CARE set up the appointment and the doctor is only there on Friday, so I'm not sure what that even means). I was advised to go to the ER if need be. It is now noon the following Monday. I called CARE and was told that nobody there knows the doctor's phone number. I Googled it for them. When I called back, I was told that only a select few people at CARE were permitted to call Dr. Werblin. They also told me they thought this had been resolved on Friday. I called the doctor myself and left a voicemail, telling him that he needed to correct his error and get me my meds. He called back over an hour later and told me that it was NOT his error (contrary to what he had said on Friday), that he "resented my tone," and that he had worked on the issue for an ENTIRE NINETY MINUTES on Friday and he wasn't working on a weekend for ANYBODY. He said he had no idea when I would be getting my Suboxone, implying that this was somehow MY fault. While searching Google for a means to contact him, I came across court documents. Apparently the good doctor has been in trouble in Washington, Maine, and Maryland for writing prescriptions for himself, for Concerta (speed) and other narcotics. I am under the impression that he doesn't write paper scripts because he's not allowed to write anything except through the electronic database the state of New York has set up to monitor bad doctors. I'm pretty much screwed right now, but if you're looking for a psychiatrist, I suggest you keep looking. This guy is strung out, rude, and clearly incapable (or he just doesn't care about his patients). If you are mandated to CARE for your psych meds, show your PO the documents, available on Google under Dr. Joshua Werblin. Do yourself a favor, steer clear of this whole mess.UPDATE:After a week without Suboxone, I finally got my prescription filled and "Dr. Josh," as he so charmingly calls himself, told me counselor (not me, because he has refused to talk to me, call me back, email me or even acknowledge my presence int he hallway) that he refuses to write any further prescriptions for me. Fine with me, however, he was told that the ethical thing to do was to provide me with a 30 day supply of medications so that I could find another provider. He wrote me a partial month of my antidepressant. CARE told me that I should not worry about finding a new doctor because after the "atrocious" (their word) way he behavied, they were seeking a new doc. At the end of August, I was out of everything but Subxone, I was also sick with pneumonia. My insurance company has a very limited list of psychiatrists. I called CARE and they told me that Werblin was the only doctor they had, and that I needed to find someone else to write my meds. When I explained the situation to them AGAIN, they asked him to at least write the antidepressant. He refused.Bottom line, I wound up attempting suicide and was just released from the psychiatric unit at St. Catherine's Hospital. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR AT ALL COSTS!
