List of Steven Hussein's Reviews
Between 3 doctors' offices in Monroeville; Dr. El-Khatib, Dr. Omar Awais, and Dr. Hussein, my mom's immediately needed cancer surgery has been already delayed 4 months. The three offices pass the buck back and forth, and nothing has been done. Dr. Hussein is a nice man, and I like him as a person, but nice isn't doing us any favors here anymore. On 11/28/2023 my mom (Deb Mears, it's in your system) was scheduled for lung cancer surgery at UPMC East Monroeville. We went to that said surgery on 12/20/2023, sat in pre-op for 4 hours, and had the surgery cancel. The reason? Because there was no communication between the oncologist Dr. Awais, and the 2 heart specialists involved in the procedure, Dr. El-Khatib, and Dr. Hussein. We saw Dr. Hussein at 11:00 a.m. on 12/26/2023, and brought up the issue to him, and his office, and they said that the mistake must have come from Awais' office. That's all well and good, someone is at fault, yeah...but here we are, and it turns out that Hussein and El-Khatib believe my mom needs a mitro clip, before the cancer surgery should even be attempted. This cancer was diagnosed at Hillman Monroeville at the end of August. Over 4 months have been wasted, and we were booked for the completely wrong surgery on 12/20/2023. We should have not been in for the lung surgery yet, and should have been getting the heart surgery done. The lack of culpability, and action afterwards from these 3 offices are all extremely distressing. It's like nothing. My mother feels like her cancer surgery isn't important. Every person's cancer surgery should be important. We are still waiting for a date on the mitro clip. I can no longer do nothing, and say nothing in my mother's stead. What kind of human being would I be? Someone has made a mistake, and 3 offices won't accept full responsibility for it, and this office is part of it. The bad thing is that nothing is being done after the mistakes has been made. I would like something to be done.
I credit Dr Hussein with helping me maintain good quality of life while living with critical cardiovascular disease. He's worked with my other health providers to make sure everyone is on the same page when new medications and tests are necessary, and he's just about the most likable person around. I couldn't ask for a better person to entrust my wellbeing to.
Excellent Dr takes time with you to go over any and all concerns you have. He has a great personality
Saved my life. Very thorough.
Outstanding, been with him for almost 5 years and he always thoroughly explains everything and takes the time to answer all your questions.
Outstanding doctor, takes the time to explain and answer any questions. Have had him for almost 5 years and he is very thorough.
We appreciate Dr Hussien and the staff. WE never want to go anywhere else. Educated, kind, efficient and personable.
This is my 3rd cardiologist I went to. He is AWESOME. great listener, spent a lot of time on my first visit. Very knowledgeable, very caring towards my palpitations situation. Glad I went to him!!
I've seen Dr. Hussein both in the hospital and for follow up at his office. He works well consulting with my other specialist and always allows time for my questions. When he orders a test or bloodwork that is is not routine he will explain the purpose of it and what he is looking for (or what he wants to rule out). He never seems rushed and I feel we have a good dialog during visits.
A great dr who listens to the patient

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
