List of Alex Chu's Reviews
Dr Chu has been my doctor for over 20 years. In 2018 I was hospitalized. Dr. Chu came every day to check up on me. Thats love and loyalty to every patient he has.
Patient and knowledgeable. Office hours accommodates working professionals and busy schedules. Intimate setting. Clean and safe. Definitely a hidden gem in NE philly off of Castor and Benner.
Highly recommended Dr Alex Chu has been my doctor 20 years. Takes his time to learn his patients. Hard to find a doctor you can trust.
Horrible office staff. The way they carry their professional business is through directive ordering. Not only do they don't take the time to properly explain the issue or process, they are very rude and condescending making comments such as "if you're not in the field you won't understand so don't worry. " Well excuse me, it's exactly the fact that I'm not in the field which is why I'm seeking your expertise and its your job to care for your patience with some compassion. If your office staff is not capable of that, get some new staff who cares about their job and people. It shouldn't take 5 phone calls to send a referral properly and I cant imagine how your staff would go so far as to arguing with other medical provider when they're wrong. Simply incompetent.
Dr. Chu family practice is not recommended. His mom works as a staff amd she is very rude and condescending to patience. Rushes patience and often overstep. Being busy does not give you a right to talk down ti people when were just trying to get clarity. Hire a competent person that has compassion. It shouldn't take 5 calls for a referral.

Dr. Chu takes a lot of time with his patients. Unfortunately, he is not a very good diagnostician. His mother has tried to diagnose me on more than one occasion. She tries to discuss my medical issues and information while I am in the waiting room.
Nice guy. Terrible Doctor.
Dr. Chu is very helpful and friendly, but the receptionist is by far the nastiest, rudest person I've ever had the misfortune to have to deal with. She always seems angry for some reason, but this time she was especially unprofessional. I just spent 10 minutes on hold to renew my BP medication when she practically yelled at me for having it run out and refused to give me an appointment with the doctor for sooner than a whole month! Then she hung up in my ear!!! I do like Dr. Chu but I am sorry it seems that I will have to look for a new doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
