Barry N. Wasserman's Online Review Report Card

Very quick exam that is done by a tech. A doctor meets with you for about 5 minutes. You don't actually meet Wasserman until the day of surgery.

I went to Dr. Wasserman right before the pandemic. I met in his old office for my first visit and had my surgery in the new office in Feb. 2020. The transition to the new office was bumpy for him and his staff (normal). They were quite comical not knowing rooms or where to be. The surgery went great and follow up visit(s) were great. The pandemic came and I have been to the office several times since my surgery. The staff was amazing to get me in when I had a bump on my eyelid that I found concerning. The follow up visit was good, eyelash removed, all good. My visits with Barry however, not so smooth. My first annual visit - I left after waiting for an hour in the waiting room. I believe the staff mentioned when I checked in that there was an emergency or something that pushed him behind for the day and apologies. Someone from the office a day or so later called to apologize and we rescheduled. I missed the next appointment. Today was to be my first visit with Barry since my failed 1 year follow up appointment. I was in the room for awhile (I'm reading and enjoying my book) and he popped his head around the corner saying hello and be there shortly. When I looked at my watch I realized that I had been in the room for half an hour and hadn't seen anyone since the tech. I understand everyone's time is valuable but he is clearly overbooked and his patients suffer. I am not sure if that is him or office manager handling scheduling, but I recommend being mindful of patients time. Unfortunately (fortunately?) as I was asking for my co-pay to be returned, he had arrived for our appointment to find me gone.

I would highly recommend Dr. Wasserman! I was previously told by other doctors that there was no help to correct my son's vision. I went to Dr. Wasserman and as my son says now, his procedure has been life altering. He can confidently look people in the eye after 16 years!!!! My mother took him for his consultation and my son cam home saying this guy is the best and he was so excited and very comfortable with him. It shocked me. The day of the surgery I met Dr. Wasserman and my son was right, he is the best, not to mention the best bedside manner I have ever seen in a Doctor. Anyone who gets annoyed and gives less of a review for waiting for this doctor, must not appreciate that some things are definitely worth waiting for. My son's vision was definitely worth it!!

Awesome knowledgeable doctor and great with kids!! Highly recommend him for children.

I visited three different companies for LASIK surgery, and settled with Dr. Wasserman and his team based on price and overall helpfulness. When I finally did get the surgery, every member of his staff was extremely kind, communicative, and caring, from the exam, to prep, to after the exam and follow-up visit. (I didn't get everyone's names, but I remember Lisa and Maria!) Dr. Wasserman himself is very friendly and clear on everything he will be doing, and walks you through the process during surgery. Both eyes felt like it took less than ten minutes. I had a great experience and would have loved to have kept them as my main optometrists, but they are unfortunately a 40 minute drive away for me. I'd highly recommend them!

Knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and you can tell he loves what he does.

What an amazing experience. I had lasik a month back and my life is forever changed. I wish I had done so sooner. Go see him and find out if you are a good candidate for Lasik. Great result. Just call. Just go.

My father had lasik surgery over 20 years ago and back than the whole thing seem scary to me but than a few months ago my twin brother told me he is was going to see about lasik surgery and he choose Dr. Barry Wasserman and he had such a positive experience that I decide to make an appointment with Dr. Wasserman and he really took time to explain things and really let me know what was going to happen. day of the surgery he explains everything he is doing while he is doing it. it completely painless I felt much more relaxed when he was doing the second eye. Both me and my twin brother could not have had a better experience.

We did not like our old eye doctor. This was a lot more out of the way with me, but we saw the good reviews, so we decided we should give him a try. We had an appointment at 4. I must say they are extremely, extremely understaffed. We were not seen until 4:30 There were maybe like 10 other patients in the waiting room. And, it's just Dr. Wasserman, and his 2 assistants, making it very understaffed, and not able to see many people at one time. They need to hire more doctors at this practice. Apart from that, the staff is friendly, and Dr. Wasserman knows what he is doing. He has been very successful on my eyes, and will be willing to answer any questions you may have. Overall, a great doctor!
