Dr Ayars is the ultimate professional yet has a very caring and compassionate manner and concern for his patients. I have been his surgical patient through several cornea transplants and would highly recommend him!! I am most grateful to him for saving my sight.

After consulting with approximately 10 different eye doctors (who tried to be helpful in their way) with a variety of disappointing results, Dr. Ayres knew what needed to be done right away! And his matter-of-fact approach made me feel very secure in knowing the correct steps to make. Highly, highly, highly recommend him. I'm now pain free for the first time in months.

My appointment has been canceled for the second and last time. I would never go to this practice or anybody associated with wills.

Thank you Dr. Ayers. It has been six weeks since my surgery. I am amazed at what i was not seeing before. Thank you for restoring my vision. I commend the staff at Wills Eye and your office. Everyone was very pleasant. There was some wait time at the office but it was worth it.

Dr. Ayers is a phenomenal doctor and surgeon. He does routine things and also treats complicated cases. Do a little research as I did. The negative comments on here generally refer to officewait times and for appointments. When you are dealing with a cornea specialist (or retina specialist), they have to take emergencies on a daily basis as well as their regularly booked appointments. I have learned this from sitting in both types of offices. Your eyes are important. Have a little patience and understanding and be thankful that you have access to one of the best specialists in the area.

Dr Ayres is the best—He’s the most thorough, caring doctor I have ever encountered. To me, he is second to none My one wish is that he wasn’t two hours from my home!!

This place really needs some improvement on their management. Arrived 30 minutes ahead of appointment time but got called to exam room almost an hour post the appointment time. The front desk lady is more than rude and offered zero help. I am thinking about going somewhere else. Very poor experience

Appointment was for 10:30 AM. Waited until 1:05 to be seen. Staff at Bala Cynwyd made no apologies and was actually asking patients to go home and come back another day, after they had waited 3+hours.Staff does not return phone calls, nor do they send surgical packets with the necessary forms.We needed 11 phone calls just to schedule a date for surgery.While Dr Ayres may be brilliant, his staff makes the experience stressful and unpleasant.

Dr. Ayres removed my cataracts and replaced the lenses with ones that corrected my astigmatism. I couldn't be happier with my vision, both near and far. I now have 20/20 vision in both eyes. Everything went so smoothly and I never worried as Dr. Ayres and his staff explained everything in advance and executed everything perfectly. I highly recommend him.

A year ago I would have completely agreed with you about the office staff. But there's been changes and the new staff and policies are so much better. Either way, having Dr. Ayres for your Doctor would be worth that aggravation. My gf has a serious eye condition that is extremely difficult to treat. Her whole life revolves around her eye and other doctors won't even touch it. Dr. Ayres is exceptionally skilled and his bedside manner is what everybody should get from a dr. He always makes sure she understands how serious the situation is but he does so with a "we got this" attitude., He is calm and gentle MY gf is a nervous wreck, scared out of her mind, and sometimes so exhausted she wants to give up. Every time, after seeing Dr. Ayres, she feels a ton of stress off her shoulders. No matter how serious- he makes her feel calm. That alone is priceless,
