I never got to meet Dr Gelman so this is not an indictment of his abilities which are unknown to me. I showed up at 6:30am on time for my 7:30 appointment. The courteous staff at the front of the hospital informed me I wasn’t on “the list” and instructed me to wait in the lobby while they contacted the doctors office. They called 4 times and the doctor was nowhere to be found. His office said they cancelled my appointment by accident and were trying to figure out why. Meanwhile I waited more than 90 minutes in the lobby and his office didn’t even have the respect for its patients to come and provide an explanation, or to admit me to their office so we could figure out the problem. After more than an hour and a half I left. I would NEVER trust an office this unprofessional to perform a delicate procedure in which I am required to be put under. Furthermore, they informed me only 3 days prior that I needed a negative Covid test, so I paid extra to rush the result. AVOID AT ALL COST

This doctor is Horrible, inept and corrupt. When referred to the Mt. Sinai Physicians by the hospital I thought I would be given someone I could trust but I was seen first by some intern who spent most of the time with me, then he came in for 5 minutes, did NOT listen to a thing I had to say, made inappropriate remarks about my tattoos, prescribed a medicine for a condition I told him that I did NOT have that made me worse and then proceeded to bill me a huge amount for a procedure that I did not have done. Even after that was rectified after much contention. He should be sued for malpractice. And still I am being billed extra for his services, above the copayment -- ridiculous!

Dr. Gelman has been taking care of me and my family for years. He is highly professional and very knowledgeable in treating gastric issues. I highly recommend him and his office’s staff. You can trust their expertise!

Dr. Gelman is a very dedicated man in his profession. He not only is an extremely intelligent physician, but a caring one as well. My entire family has utmost faith in Dr. Gelman. I highly recommend him to anyone searching for a physician in the field of gastroenterology.

Very good doctor and thorough but was alittle annoyed my prescription was not called in and had to wait over 2 days to get it !
