Dr. Woo recently performed life changing surgery on my husband. During our first meeting he took 2 hours to explain the surgery in detail, using a model so we both understood. He detailed the course of treatment and what we could expect at each stage of recovery. He and his staff were always warm, professional, thorough and patient. It’s difficult to trust anyone when so much is at stake but Dr. Woo won us over with his obvious knowledge and genuine concern. My husband is recovered now and back to enjoying his life. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Woo, Casey and the entire Jefferson Epilepsy team.

Dr Wu was my neurosurgeon for my Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery for treatment of my Essential Tremor (ET). I had suffered from this movement disorder for over 15 years, trying multiple medications without success. My neurologist recommended trying DBS, and I had a consult with Dr Wu. I went into the apptmt with serious reservations about this brain surgery, but came away convinced that it was safe and that I was an excellent candidate. Dr Wu was patient and informative about the procedure, the pluses and (very few) concerns or possible issues; he answered all of our questions thoroughly. I had the surgery in July, and everything went extremely well in Dr Wu's expert hands. My recovery went very well, his skill as a neurosurgeon set me up for a swift and comfortable healing. Considering it was 4-5 hr brain surgery, the fact that I was able to recover using nothing but Tylenol speaks volume to Dr Wu's abilities! I would recommend this surgery to any sufferer of ET who is not getting relief from medication, and I would highly recommend Dr Wu specifically. His bedside manner is outstanding, his skills are cutting edge and top flight, and he knows DBS extremely well. As one who is on "the other side" of this surgery/procedure, he has made me a believer!

I saw Dr Wu because I suffered from involuntary tremors. I tried medications twice to no avail My neurologist suggested DBS surgery to correct my tremors. I made an appointment to discuss the possibility of correcting my tremors. Dr Wu spent over 90 minutes diagnosing my condition and whether or not he could help me. He said that he could help and explained the risks of the surgery as well as the benefits. I was hesitant to have the surgery but it definitely was the right decision. I read all the reviews regarding Dr Wu. He is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. He explained everything to me. He called my wife once he had completed the surgery and was very reassuring to her and explained what was done and that I was going to get an MRI to see that everything was ok. I definitely would recommend him.

I have Parkinson’s disease and was having serious issues with dyskinesia and tremors. I was given Dr. Wu’s name to see if I qualified for a DBS (deep brain stimulator) I did and the surgery was May 7th at Jefferson Neuroscience Hospital. I have had 3 in person visits with Dr Wu and his Surgical nurse, Casey Rosenthal and they both were amazing. Having the DBS implanted is just the beginning - the settings have to be tweaked and this takes time. Dr. Wu gave me his email and told me to contact him if I ever had a problem or questions. I did contact him numerous times and he got back to me the same day!! Casey Rosenthal RN also gave me her contact info and I did have to contact her and she also got back to me the same day. Casey made me feel at ease when the procedure was explained to me. Dr. Wu and Casey make a great team and I would highly recommend Dr. Wu for any Neurosurgery he is very knowledgeable and talks to you not down to you and either does Casey made me so comfortable.

Dr Wu is a kind compassionate doctor. He takes the time to not just talk to you but also to listen. He explains in terms that are understandable and helped me to make an informed decision. I highly recommend Dr Wu and his team.

My experience with Dr. Wu and his staff has been nothing but positive. I had a DBS operation to control an essential tremor. From the first appointment to my last telemed, Dr. Wu has been enthusiastic, more than competent, and always positive. His passion for what he does is palpable and manifests itself in everything he does. His staff, especially Casey and Julie, have been extremely helpful, and have always kept me up-to-date and on track for what I needed to do. The Jefferson internet portal has also been a boon, allowing contact at any time. If someone had told me that brain surgery would have been this positive, I may have done it sooner. I would recommend Dr. Wu and his staff to anyone!

Dr Wu is awesome to deal with. He understands and deals with you as an individual and doesn’t talk over or down to you. Dr Wu is also completely thorough and only uses surgical intervention as a last resort or when absolutely needed. If you are looking for a Neurosurgeon that is going to talk to you on a one on one level and shoot straight with you go no further.

Dr. Wu was an incredible surgeon! He was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions without making me feel like I was rushing him. His technical skill and bedside manner were both incredible- after a four year struggle with pain management, he helped me find and subsequently performed the procedure that ultimately has restored a majority of my quality of life. I would highly recommend him!

There aren’t enough words to describe the caring and attention received from Dr Wu and his amazing staff especially Casey. Thank you all so much for taking the time, care and concern and all you do. No doctor can compare.
