Just got my son home after his second cardiac cath at CHOP. So grateful for this wonderful hospital in our area. Dr. Christopher Smith and his team are wonderful, competent, and enthusiastic about what they do and the nurses in the CCU are as well. You feel that they really care about the kids and about doing an excellent job, and not doing anything more invasive than they must. Also appreciated the newer private room we were in, so much nicer than the bays from last year. Had my son at CHOP 18 months ago and have been impressed with all the staff, from housekeeping to security, and nurses and doctors. Everyone does a great job of keeping you informed, explaining every detail, always asking if there are other things needed or questions answered. Though I hope I do not have to be back for a looooong time, I know if we do my child would be in great hands. Keep up the great work, CHOP.

My daughter had a major surgery that required her to stay in the hospital for several days afterwards. Due to her ongoing medical issues we have stayed at many hospitals throughout the country and I honestly don't know why anyone would choose chop. From being lied to by doctors about wheelchairs so they could sell us a vest system out of pocket to them not having ramp accessible handicapped parking spaces. The served food was nearly inedible and the order was wrong almost every time. Expect to get a shared hospital room where your bed will be 4 feet away from your neighbors. The absolute worst 1990 amenities I have ever seen at a hospital.

I don’t understand how I can’t get a hold of ANYONE . Just to schedule an appointment for my baby . I call in the afternoon; no one answers Im left on hold for an hour ! I call at 9 AM …. No one answers STILL . Left voicemails and at this point it’s ridiculous. I haven’t stepped foot inside and I’m already disappointed.

NO FOOD OFFERED TO BREAST FEEDING MOTHERS.!!I was in this hospital for 5 days straight with my baby who was 100% healthy. From his weight check appointment they made us go to the ER because he was not gaining the weight that's on there charts. I did not have any money or ID. Was never given a parent ID badge or ristban so I could not walk the hospital alone to even search for food. I asked EVERYDAY for food and everyone told me NO! They only offered the food court. All that the Children Hospital of Philadelphia Emergency Hospital fed me for 5 days straight were peanut butter crackers, gold fish and gram crackers!
