List of Douglas E Kligman Md's Reviews
All I can say is read the reviews and then RUN to another practice, unless you can endure what I perceived as blantant racism and disrespectful behavior.
Dr. Klingman has been my dermatologist for at least the last 10 - 15 years. I would recommend him to anyone, and already have several times. He is thorough, professional and has a kind and thoughtful way of speaking to me. I assume he is no different with his other patients. He has performed several minor dermatological procedures on me and all of them gave me the result I hoped for and went exactly as he predicted. If you find yourself sitting a bit before seeing him then simply bring some reading material and don't schedule your appointment up against other commitments. He tends to give every patient the time they need.
An appointment with Dr. Kligman is fine - once you get into see him. The office always runs late. For example, I was the second patient scheduled after the office re-opened after lunch, and I got in to see the doctor 45 minutes late. The office staff can be pleasant, or not. They schedule the next yearly appointment during the current visit. I asked if Medicare requires at least one year from the current date for the next appointment. The receptionist said, "That's between you and Medicare." I told her to look around the waiting room, where all the people were over 65. The least she could do is know the most basic Medicare scheduling rules. Also, their outside billing service is a mess.
Has helped get to the bottom of my issue better than any previous doctor. He is a nice man and extremely professional. However, the wait times have become inexcusable. 45 minutes to an hour after your appointment time is now the norm.
Personable doctor who knows his profession. It's what you want in a specialist. Highly recommend.
I first saw Dr. Kligman several years ago for several lesions on my left cheek. He excised them and sent them to the lab, where they were diagnosed as squamous carcinoma, which were removed completely. Since then I have seen him yearly, except recently - it was close to three years since I saw him last - he told me he wanted to see me yearly. Each time I have seen him, he has frozen pre-squamous-carcinoma lesions on my arms (three when I just saw him). I also have seborrheic dermatitis on my face. He prescribed Ketoconazole for it. I have been using it for less than a week and the dermatitis has pretty much disappeared!!!
Dr. Kligman is very professional. He listens and empathizes. Angela in the Blue Bell office is very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
I was at the BlueBell office today and the staff, Angela, and Dr. Kligman were very kind and very respectful, they could not have been more professional and I would highly recommend them.
Does your boss need you to work? Do your kids need to be picked up? Do you have a life? No? Lucky, because otherwise you would need to scrap your entire day for an appointment with Dr. Kligman. If you get scheduled for 1pm, don't expect to see the doctor before 2pm. Just sit and wait. And they tell you right at your face: "When you make an appointment with a doctor, you should allow at least an hour waiting time". Really? I say it's poor time management. The doctor wants the unhappy patients to read a disclaimer that says he likes to give his patients more time - but if you are THAT behind, may be you shouldn't be scheduling so many patients. Or you can save yourself time and nerves and call another office. Any other dermatologist would be happy to get you in the next day and see you within 15 minutes of your arrival. When it happens once - it's an accident. Twice - a coincidence. But when it happens every single time - FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR!
Dr. Kligman is great his staff is sub par to say the least. From the way they answer the phone to how you are treated when you arrive. You are never greeted with good morning/afternoon. They never thank you for being a patient or choosing Dr. Kligman. His office is completely overloaded from floor to ceiling with file boxes dating back to the 80's. The receptionist is rude and doesn't care one bit about Dr. Kligman's patients. The nurse treats you like a number not a patient.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
