Dr. Aberra is a wonderful doctor and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a GI. She is a good listener and has a great personality. She took her time to learn about my medical history and always offers me advice for a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Aberra is wonderful and very capable. The problem is accessibility. I called in June and was having a medical issue and was told the first appt was sept 28 and I am a long time patient. It became an urgent medical issue and only after calling four or more times and emailing once that I was scheduled for an appt. for two weeks from now. Her nurse was rude and said “ well you haven’t been diagnosed with colitis and all your tests are normal.” I replied that I’d had it for 41 years, and had been hospitalized for it numerous times to which she replied” I’m only a nurse.” I expect better from Penn .

Very responsive to MyChart messages. Thorough and knowledgeable. Supportive of my decisions as a patient and listens as opposed to rushing me from the appointment. Good bedside manner. I have IBD/UC and am using mesalamine and diet to keep myself in remission. I don't think she is totally supportive of my diet choice, but she is open minded and even asked me for the details of what it is I've been doing which seems to be working (LEAP & SCD). I reccomend her to anyone who needs a GI.

It is rare to find a doctor who really fantastic and at the same time takes the time to explain things and actually listens to your concerns. Dr Aberra is an example of such doctors who really cares for her patients. She is very knowledgeable, smart, and has great bedside manners.
