List of James Harrop's Reviews
Dr. Harrop is a wonderful doctor he's done a laminectomy on me a few years ago .Now I'll be making an appointment to see him on my neck pain issues which is now affecting my right shoulder . I have plenty of faith in Dr. Harrop.
After 3 other back surgeries I finally found the Dr that could correct the previous failures While we did have an issue with the cage that was placed in the front moving requiring another surgery and no rooms at Jefferson for the entire week his partner Dr Heller did correct the issue at the end of the week leaving me now standing tall with only issues at night concerning pain. After going through 3 other surgeries over a 4 year time to finally have someone look at an x ray and say yeah I can fix it and then do so was just a 5 star for me
Dr. Harrop fixed my l3 to s1 fusion and it's been 12 yrs . now I am coming back . great spine Dr.
Dr. Harrop is an amazing surgeon, and overall just an awesome person. He and a team of surgeons corrected my sisters scoliosis. She had a 65 degree curvature in her spine. She is now upright. It was incredible. We are soo very grateful to have found him.
We went to Dr. Harrop for my mom’s back pain, when Jefferson found her neck issue is more urgent. Dr. Harrop not only arranged epidural on the same day of 1st visit to reduced her back pain, but did a great cervical surgery despite her age (80). His caring and skill deserve all the waiting!
Absolutely one of the worlds best neurosurgeons who wrote the book on spinal repair. Dr James Harrop is an absolute caring, compassionate, Neurosurgeon who is super intelligent highly skilled surgeon who has performed multiple surgeries on myself and spouse with excellent results every time. Unlike most drs he doesn’t diagnose you after reading the radiologist reports from imaging studies, but looks at the films himself and always finds the exact problem in your spine that is causing problems, pain and ambulatory issues. Highly recommend this physician. Great bedside manner, witty and such an incredible doctor with a conservative approach to always fixing your medical problems
After being diagnosed with scoliosis at age 14, I had surgery at a rural hospital in NJ. My spine was fused and I was placed in a body cast for 9 months. The surgery was not successful. Ten years later I had it redone at Jefferson by Dr. John Fenlin. This time my own bone was used and I was in a body cast for 6 months. The surgery was very successful. 11 years ago my fusion fractured at L1 because I was asking my back to do too much. I was referred to Dr. James Harrop, Neurosurgeon at Jefferson. In March 2010 Dr. Harrop operated on me and repaired the fracture using my own bone and titanium rods and screws. The surgery was a total success. Not only is Dr. Harrop an amazingly talented surgeon, he truly cares about each of his patients, treating each one with dignity; he takes the time to explain and to answer questions. I have seen Dr. Harrop over the years for a variety of reasons. He is the same caring doctor he always was. I cannot thank Dr. Harrop enough for giving me my life back!
I had two spine fusions, S1/L5, and L2/L3, plus failed Nevro trial, and I am still in severe Pain. I am looking for another doctor who will find out where my pain is coming from. I was told to see a hip doctor and saw 3 doctors who said I have a back problem. I have difficulty walking, sleeping, and on narcotics for PAIN. GOOD LUCK!
Dr Harrop is my hero!! I had lumbar surgery in 2009!! I am a RN and had what we thought would be a career ending injury. He helped regain my life!!!
Professor Harrob Replaced my cervical in 2010 and he did surgery on my lumbar in 2014 I would not be alive in 2020 without this great doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
