Excellent experience for the entire process from my initial visit through November 10, 2021 surgery and post surgery visits.

This is my second hip replacement by Dr. Vakil. I had a very positive experience during the entire cycle - diagnosis, procedure, post procedure and recovery. Dr. Vakil is very straight forward with explanations and is very thorough and available when it comes to answering questions. I appreciate that. Very good outcome!

The initial appointment, the surgery, the follow-up -- very very good. I'd recommend Dr. Vakil for hip surgery.

If you are looking for an excellent Orthopedic Surgeon you won't find anyone better than Dr.Vakil. He is very caring about you and your problem.He listens to all your concerns and addresses them one at a time.When you leave his office you are fully aware of what is going to happen and what to expect before,during and after your surgery. Dr. Vakil replaced both my hips and left knee within the past 5 years. All 3 operations were a complete success! I can now say the the quality of my life has changed for the better. I have known Dr. Vakil since he was a resident at Hahnemann. We worked together for years while he trained to be an Orthopedic surgeon. When I decided to have surgery to have a total knee replacement, I had many physicians to choose from. I wanted someone I knew and trusted, so I chose Dr. Vakil as I knew his reputation and he was close to my home at Chestnut Hill Hospital. My experience was fantastic. The Hospital treated everyone like we were totality Dr Vakil came to see me before the surgery to mark my knee made sure I was comfortable. I came out of the surgery feeling great. I had therapy that day and went home that night. I got home and still felt good. The next day I had some pain but not excruciating. By day three I was walking without any assistance (no cane or walker) and returned to work (remotely) from home that Monday. I had surgery on November 9th and back at work on November 15th, I know I am the exception as that is how I am, I am so glad I placed my trust where I did.

I asked my family physician if his mother or father needed a total knee replacement who would he recommend? He said Dr. Vakil without hesitation. I made an appointment with Dr. Valkil and by the end of the appointment I knew I found the right doctor. I had surgery in late September 2021. Dr Vakil’s pain management and medicine protocol were completely different from my earlier knee replacement. I experienced discomfort as expected but no where near what I had 10 years ago. I recommend Dr. V to anyone thinking about TKR.
