John A. (Drew) Ridge's Online Review Report Card

In 2014 Dr. Ridge performed a right sided lymph node dissection after my thyroid cancer had spread to my lymph nodes. I had no complications. I am now getting worked up for possible recurrence and looked him up because I trust him and am very grateful for his care. I will travel back to Philadelphia if another surgery is needed.

When my husband needed treatment, the first thing i did was to research for the best place in the world to have the treatment done that he needed to have done. I came up with three places, we went to see the Dr's at all three places, the first one was a hospital in the UK, where we are from, the second a major hospital in NY and Fox Chase in PA. The team we met in NY were nice, but seemed to be lacking in knowledge, the team in the UK were fantastic, but had NEVER performed this type of operation at their facility, but the head of Head and Neck, who we met, told us he had trained with a guy in the USA who had done this many times. Once we met Dr Ridge, we knew he was the one to do this surgery with his team at Fox Chase. He talked through all the issues that my husband was having and would have next, we had actually found someone who actually KNEW about the condition and had ACTUALLY performed the operation many many MANY times before. How on earth could we trust anyone else to do this! He introduced us to Dr Topham, another amazing man at Fox Chase and between them, they have given us hope to have another thirty years together! Dr Ridge has been amazing through this whole process of treatment. He has been professional, caring and informative, even when we have bombarded him with questions from time to time. I cannot say more good things about this man, or the rest of the team at Fox Chase. From the moment we found them, they have been there through the treatment and through the emotional rollercoaster that Cancer and the after-effects of treatment have on you. It seems ridiculous to leave a review on a Dr, and the staff of this amazing place because nothing i write could actually give a true account of the care we had here. If you have to go through this type of treatment in your life, then please, seek out this man and his team. He will make you feel safe and looked after and you will get treatment second to none! We still have a long way to go, but the future looks bright now, thanks to this man and the team at Fox Chase! Thank you Dr Ridge and your whole team, from the receptionists to the nursing staff, you really did a fantastic job taking care of my husband, my family and I will be forever grateful!

I am very happy that I met Dr. Ridge, and, that he was my surgeon for my cancer diagnosis. He is an exceptional surgeon. At all of our consultations, he takes the time to explain the process and answer all questions in an effective manner. He described the surgery in detail, and the surgery was just as he explained. There were no surprises. You can't even tell that I had neck surgery. It is comforting to know that he is available to me if anything arises in the future.

Dr. Ridge is an phenomenal surgeon. He is direct, to the point, and also very conscientious of his work. He is professional and committed to his patients. His honesty during pre-surgical and post-surgical appointments was very reassuring. The staff at Fox Chase made my surgical experience the best it could possibly be. I would highly recommend Dr. Ridge and the Fox Chase team.

I was referred to Dr. Ridge by Dr. Veloski. Prior to and after my surgery Dr. Ridge and his staff were very personable and supportive. Dr. Ridge's plesantness and stature allows you to feel comfortable and confident that you are receiving the best care. I would recommend Dr. Ridge and Fox Chase Cancer Center.

Dr. Ridge is the most incredible surgeon and it is because of him that my father, who was diagnosed with an extremely rare and incurable head and neck cancer was able to walk me down the aisle on my wedding day. I will be forever greatful for him and the head and neck team at Fox Chase Cancer Center!

Dr. Ridge spent the time necessary to explain my surgical procedure in detail. His skill as a surgeon was evident when no one noticed the surgical site on my neck only two weeks after the procedure. I highly recommend this physician to everyone who needs any head or neck surgery. His experience and bedside manner are second to none! As a registered nurse I did my homework in choosing a doctor and I am so happy I did, he is the best!

Dr. Ridge truly cares about his patients. He answered all questions, met with my husband and daughter to advise them of the surgery and was very patient with their quesions. His care is second to NONE. I had surgery in June and was completely healed within a week. My daughters wedding was in November and my scar was not visible at all! Would recommend him and his team to anyone!

I have been a patient of Dr. Ridge since 2008 when I was diagnosed with stage 4 oral cancer. Today, I am almost 96 years old. Dr. Ridge was a GOD sent to me and I am grateful. He is an excellent surgeon, caring and sensitive toward the needs of his patients, and has always made sure that I received the best care. I have the utmost confidence in his professional expertise and skill. Albeit, he can be tough on me when I need him to be. I highly recommend Dr. Ridge and his staff at Fox Chase.
