over 10 years care, reached my gold. Sw 297 gw170 cw 155
Dr meihlan saved my life. At 392 lbs he performed gastric bypass after I followed his strict instructions to lose some weight and quit smoking. If that sounds a little off we'll it's to prove ur commitment since gastric bypass is not a quick fix it's a tool that you need to work with the rest of ur life. He made sure that my house was fully air conditioner before he discharged me on an excessively hot weekend so I wouldn't be uncomfortable and sweat into my incision. I highly recommend him to anyone interested in this type of surgery. I will be returning to him to have a hernia repair that I put off a few years ago due to other personal issues. He was strict but his success rate is astronomical.
It was excellent from beginning to end, the best stay in the hospital I ever had. I felt safe and protected. I didn’t want fit anything.
This Dr is horrible. He performed a paraesophegeal hernia repair on me and botched me up. I have to live with gastroparesis now because he damaged my vagus nerve and I have a unsightly scar. He is cocky and rude. He should not be in practice. Beware I still have a hernia and a large hernia at that to this day and I feel nauseous daily. I should have file a malpractice against him!!! Do not go to him if I could give him 0 stars I would
This doctor maybe a great surgeon but has a very horrible bedside manner. He performed my gastric bypass surgery in April 2012 and I developed a stomach ulcer that I still have today and I have to take protonix for the rest of my life until I'm called home. Dr. Meilahn kept telling me there was nothing wrong with me but yet I was admitted in Temple several times and received over three blood transfusions and had a nun and priest pray over me. He was very creepy. I would be asleep in my hospital room and I would happen to wake up with him starring at me from a chair. He would then calmly get up and leave my room. He was very condescending to his nurse staff. They were afraid of him. Through prayer and the grace of the Almighty I had enough strength to get up use my phone and file a complaint about him. He then found out and made me leave the hospital. I then transferred over to Thomas Jefferson just to learn that he wouldn't give them my medical records and told them that he's never heard of me and he never performed the surgery. What an crazy doctor he was. My billing insurance department proved him wrong. He made himself look insane. Maybe that's why he's no longer at Temple. Please be aware of this psycho doctor. He has a lot of issues.
I love this place and the staff is excellent. I had gastric bypass almost 4 years ago. Dr. Meilahn did a wonderful job I went from 270 to 155 and my weight is the same. Staff taught me how to eat if i overeat and I'm going great. Im in the process now of trying to get a job and work with their bariatric team. I hope I can help others join this journey with me.
Dr Meilhan was excellent. I had a visit on a Fri. He sent for CT scan stat, then surgery was the following Tues. After the CT scan results were reviewed, Dr Meilhan called me personally to discuss. His office staff are friendly and efficient as well.
Excellent Doctor Very Good bed side Manners, easy to explain any and all problems requarding my Surgery/Treatment....will Tell others...(Surgery 11-20-2018...

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
