Told Dr. Scogna I thought I had a "mini stroke" or something equivalent 3 - 4 months prior, explained my symptoms / what I experienced regarding the possible "mini stroke" or "brain bleed" & apparently something serious in my brain took place, that I could actually feel this happening in my brain (since I never had anything even remotely similar prior). Told him I since have; acute memory issues, sudden worsened vision issues, & other symptoms never experienced prior. After waiting multiple weeks for appointment the visit was "less than 10 min time spent with me" only to hear a very dismissive "nothing surgically I can do for you"! DID NOT ORDER ANY IMAGING, DID NOT STATE THAT I SHOULD SEE ANOTHER NEUROLOGIST OR REFER TO ANOTHER NEURO AFTER TELLING HIM THESE SYMPTOMS, HAD NO CONCERN OR TOOK ANY ACTION OR SUGGESTIONS WHATSOEVER REGARDING MY HEALTH, NOTHING! Neurosurgeons do surgery but not caring about patients health over $$ for surgery = HIPPOCRATIC OATH VIOLATION! Advise to avoid!

It was almost 20 years ago but Dr. Scogna saved my life. I had a traumatic brain injury with epidural AND subdural hematomas in my frontal lobe. If Dr. Scogna wasn't there that morning of July 14, 2001, I may not be typing this right now. My husband recently had a brain shunt put in by Dr. Scogna. He was very nice when we first went to him and the operation was done. However, upon our return visit after surgery, Dr. Scogna rushed us through the visit. He never asked how my husband was feeling. We were left with questions. We felt he was very dismissive. He had a host of people who all had the same appointment time as we did. Today we went to our family doctor and it turns out, this doctor missed one staple he left in my husband's head. Seriously, leave a staple in his head for two months which is when we were told to go back. We will not be going back there.

He operated on me 3 times,2 for my back and once on my neck.all 3 surgeries were a major improvement to my life. He is a great doctor and person. I give him 10 stars! Jeff Small

He was fine before the surgery. On our return visit, he was very short and dismissive. My husband did not get to talk to him. He removed the staples and told us to come back in two months. He rushed out of the room very quickly and upon a visit to our family doctor today, she discovered that Dr. Scogna left a staple in my husband's head. We will not be going back in two months.

A year ago my experience with Dr.Scogna was extremely pleasant, and I felt I was in very capable and above all professional hands.Before my surgery l couldn't walk and was in a wheelchair.My surgery went extremely well without any complications.I can walk,drive,do housework all thanks to Dr Scogna.I highly recommend him to anyone that needs spinal surgery.

Following an auto accident, I experienced bilateral craneotomies by Dr Scogna's gifted hands. I knew I was dying before the surgery. So far, I have had 16 good years (and counting) and every one is the result of his excellent care.
