Dr. Gottfried was extremely condescending and was so quick to diagnose and move on that he never addressed my main concern for coming in the first time, my cough which I found was related to the flu.. when I came in a second time about the cough getting worse, the response was "yeah.. you have the flu.. you're going to have a cough." This response annoyed me because the team said that if days go by and the cough gets worse, you begin to wheeze, if the inhaler doesn't work & you begin to vomit, come back... and that's what I did. When i expressed my concern that the cough suppressants and inhaler weren't working and i wasn't able to rest, he said that those have been shown not to be effective and finally perscribed a prescription grade cough suppressant. I'd imagine that if he knew this information beforehand and he actually had a level of care, that he'd reccomend it sooner and would have a different attitude about my confusion on why what I was doing was not showing any signs of helping. I felt like i had to defend myself and my concerns to a medical professional. He came off as rude, tacky and dismissive. The nursing team was his saving grace.
