List of Julieanne Hlavac's Reviews
My experience with Dr. Hlavac has been nothing but amazing. I have seen her several times and each time I feel personally cared for. I feel that she's listening and I have gotten great medical help as well as general health advice from her that has been fantastic.
Where shall I start? At the time of my first virtual visit with Dr Hlavac, I was pretty impressed. She appeared empathetic and profesional. Then things started going downhill. I have to say that I have never met her in person. However, we have had rather unpleasant exchanges regarding my desire to switch my blood pressure medication because of really nasty side effects but she refused to listen and even told me " that if I prefered to see another provider, that was fine with her". Not exactly the caring professional attitude you would expect during this pandemic. But yesterday, I got really fed up. My mum passed away on 10/12 in a French nursing home and it has been a nightmare trying to fly there because I need proof of a negative PCR covid test less than 72 hours before boarding my flight. After having booked 3 flights and being tested twice as well as missing my mum's funeral when I am her only living family member, I caller Dr Hlavac's office thinking they could help. I left a long message for her explaining my awful situation and asking if I could get a script to get tested today. Ten minutes later, a nurse calls me back saying "We do not write prescriptions here". I almost fell over, So I called my former PCP who immediately faxed a script to Abington Hospital where I just got tested. Needless to say I am now switching back to my former PCP. I don't advise you to come to this practice where staff is rude, referrals are a nightmare and apart from the great GI department, I highly recommend you stay away.
I don't understand the previous review. You make an appointment for the doctor you want to see and that person is your Primary Care physician. The only time you don't have a choice of who to see is if you are seen as an emergency visit at the last minute. Dr. Julie Hlavac has been my physician at Drexel Med. for many years and she has always been kind and patient and always gives good advice. She has called me at home many times to give me test results, even just to say the test results are fine and there's nothing to worry about.
Dr. Hlavac is the best health doctor that one can have. She even make personal calls to her patients with test results. She attends her patients as if you are the only patient in her office. She observes your inside and out. I was amazed that she noticed that I was wearing mixed mate socks that was so close in color that I didn't even notice. Her eyes are much like a MRI.
The supporting staff was nice, but the "doctors" didn't seem to listen and often forgot to call in scripts etc., You never see the same doctor its more of an assembly line kind of feeling. I wouldn't consider this a good choice for family medicine.
Dr. Hlavac is a caring and thorough family doctor. I think she's a wonderful doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
